Cool, will they ping me if anything interesting comes up? I rarely read my email, glad to hear it won't go totally to waste.

Yeah, that's what they all say.... That's what they said two years ago when I claimed they were going to tax the hell out of junk food by using "healthcare costs" under Obamacare for a reason...

Former Treasury Sec.: Get Ready for Taxes & Regulations on Junk Food | Video | TheBlaze.com

“I think there is no question that the way Americans eat and what Americans weigh is a big contributor to health problems and it’s a big contributor to health costs,” - Larry Summers, former United States Secretary of the Treasury and Director of the White House United States National Economic Council

“It’s not the agenda now, but I think at some point you’re going to see tax measures and regulatory measures that are going to be directed at helping people be healthier"

Do you understand what that means?

It means government will regulate and define your diet and anything else these authoritarian nuts deem to be a "health risk." You think there are no jobs now?? yeah wait until you're paying 7 dollars for a McDonalds double cheeseburger - when that happens you can say bye-bye McDonalds and all those employees McDonalds directly and indirectly employs.. That's not to mention all the other alleged "junk food" manufactures out there....

[J]ust as we have over time done things with respect to tobacco that are very constructive and that are saving hundreds of thousands of people’s lives, that kind of agenda is going to come to other aspects of public health, including the way people eat.
2 years ago when Obamacare was being championed I said the aforementioned was exactly what government wanted and every progressive called me a "kook" that needed to put his tinfoil hat back on but here you go - progressives spewing their agenda with pride - the same agenda I warned people about 2 years ago.

Now if I were you, I would look at what authority these ideas and pieces of legislation give government and not what securities they give you....

So don't even attempt to label me a kook....

Actually I am a cook. However I believe people should really understand what they're buying with Obamacare (or rather not buying but exchanging liberties for.)

    Nothing is free.....

If the government controls your healthcare and decides what's best for your health - what cant they control? The government in essence has the authority to tax and regulate businesses out of business citing "healthcare costs" and that in turn allows them to dictate industry hence economy.... It's a goddamn Trojan Horse - that was the whole damn point in the first place.

Why would Larry Summers "former United States Secretary of the Treasury and Director of the White House United States National Economic Council" say what he said? It clearly shows he has an agenda - not to mention, it's not to federal governments position to be imposing such taxes...... Typical progressive errrrrrrrrrr Fabian he is....

Is that why in France, and other European countries, the government gets to decide what the people can eat?

I'd be far more worried about such things as asset forfeiture, indefinite detention without trial, and the Patriot Act than about universal health care.

I'm not concerned about France (I'm not French) - they need to do the whole revolution thing all over again.... What is the difference between the Theocratic or Monarchy or modern democratic socialist government??

I don't believe many understand the definition of liberalism.

As far as I'm concerned socialists can eat grass like the cattle they are (hell they do in North Korea)....

There are a lot of difference between the three. A benevolent Monarchy (dictatorship) is the most efficient form of government, unfortunately, "benevolent" and "Monarchy" has proven to be an oxymoron throughout history. So like the other two, it depends upon humans acting idealistically, which the vast majority have proven is not possible in large human societies.

The strict definition, probably not. However, just like other words, high-tech, hacker, gay, etc., It's usage and understanding of it has be preempted by groups misusing it and we are stuck dealing with the "common" knowledge definition instead. Modern liberals are indeed not truly liberals, however that is the name we have for them as they won't recognize that their socio-economic philosophies are actually modified-socialism and they never created an actual name for themselves, just stole one they thought would make them sound good.
