    1. The people of Iran need help, and they are asking for it.
    2. Nukes in the hands of the world's terrorist nation is stupid and cannot be allowed.
    3. Iran could develop like an Asian Tiger under some semblence of democracy and human rights.

yeh im inclined to agree! I dont think they will allow any reform if it undermines the regime.

First, we have not engendered trust from the Iranians. You know 1953, Mossagegh, Shah of Iran, cheap oil to US and screw a bunch of Iranians and now embargoes, perhaps lies, fabrications and threats. Second, how many countries has Iran attacked that makes them this perceived threat? Third, how many has the USA attacked? Can reactor and nuke plant builders, GE, Bechtel, KBR, etc. give a better deal than Iran's nearest neighbor to the North, Russia? Does Iran demonstrate a need for the power from the nuke? Yes. Iran has only one refinery and exports oil but needs more electricity. Fourth, where, who, what is the bad guy here. We allow A. Q. Khan, the world's foremost nuclear terrorist, to walk the streets of Pakistan as a free man and Pakistani hero and want to accuse Iran of maybe, perhaps. possibly, could be, an aspiring nuke entity. I feel sumpin' slippin'.

Once they have nukes, they can be like nK and just lock the place down - total internet blackout; isolation, stagnation, generations lost in darkness.

Should we allow that to happen to our Persian brothers and sisters?

Its a tough one! I dont think the West can afford to be seen as the aggressor in this but on the same hand we cant stand by if in fact Iran are getting close to obtaining Nukes. I think the UN should request full inspection rights and if anything is not how it should be or the UN is blocked the we should engage in something similar to Operation Desert Fox.

Then we need an ultimatum. Iran should receive no leniency nor should they be able to negotiate into allowing themselves to having nuclear capabilities.

To which Iran continues to play games around.
