This is the tip of the iceberg. Massive layoffs and cost cutting is underway. I'm seeing it first hand.

This is going to be a VERY different country. You think the divide between rich and poor is noticeable now, Dems? Just wait and see.

Agreed. Obama loves the poor people. That's why he created so many more of them.

At least the unemployed with 401(k)'s will get their cut of the American Pie......but that'll be about it.

pssshhhh.....what are yall talking about? Obama saved the country. If it weren't for Obama winning, Romney would have killed all the poor people and took everything they owned and sold it in a garage sale at the White House to Mark Cuban and his billionaire friends.

They would have forced the poor people who survived to work the garage sale for 35 cents an hour too! While the rich guys filled up condoms with water and used them as water balloons to throw at minorities and women who were asking for their union break during the garage sale.

The sad thing is, the poor, and soon to be poor, love him too.

You do realize there is a connection to this and republican policies. We've been cutting taxes for some time, favoring wealthy and business over workers and poor, and you think this had no effect? You think only Obama is to blame?

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

These folks basically think it's Obama's fault the sun goes down tonight, so, yeah, they really do place full blame for everything bad happening on him.

Tax cuts going to expire? OBAMA RAISIN YOUR TAXES! Wait, they were temporary cuts from the Bush administration? NO DOESNT COUNT, OBAMA EXTENDED THE TAX CUTS SO THEY ARE THE OBAMA TAX CUTS EXPIRING.

    So Obama cut your taxes?

NOPE REPUBLICANS MADE HIM DO IT.

I don't buy that. I just think that a larger % of Americans have decided it makes more sense to take a long vacation than to go out a get a job. (Sorry.)

I agree with you Maggie. My brother in law drew unemployment for 2 years. Do you know when he got a job? Two weeks after his benefits were cut off, in September. He among many others received a letter in September that they would no longer be able to draw unemployment after two full years of it. Not that I disagree with the decision to cut them off, it just made me suspicious of those unemployment numbers that came out in October, right before the election.

But the point I was going to make about my brother-in-law, before I began ranting about something else was this: He could have taken a job at just about any point during the two years. A job wasn't all that hard for him to find. But he held out because he was drawing unemployment and he preferred to not have to work for barely over minimum wage, work nights or weekends. Now that he has to work, he does all three of those things. Barely makes over minimum wage, works nights and weekends. Funny how taking away someone's government benefit check changes their attitude toward work.
