I don't agree - I'd just hunt for another job in the meantime. . . if you live check to check then any part of that check gone missing can have a huge negative impact.

They've sought bankruptcy protection in January.
Sorta been following this story since then.

They're really on the verge of liquidation.

Little Debbies taste like stale cardboard next to Hostess products. I used to be positively addicted to Hostess chocolate cupcakes and Twinkies. Of course, I've been off sweets for so long that a single bite of one now would cause my jaw to seize up... still, it's sad.

They're really on the verge of liquidation.
    Latest:

The maker of Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Wonder Bread said Monday that the strike has prevented it from producing and delivering products, and it is closing bakeries in Seattle, St. Louis and Cincinnati. The facilities employ 627 workers.

Hostess warned earlier this month that the strike, by about 30 percent of its workforce, could lead to bakery closures. “We deeply regret this decision, but we have repeatedly explained that we will close facilities that are no longer able to produce and deliver products because of a work stoppage — and that we will close the entire company if widespread strikes cripple our business,” Hostess Brands CEO Gregory F. Rayburn said.
Hostess has argued that workers must make concessions as it tries to improve its financial position. The privately-held food maker filed for Chapter 11 protection in January, its second trip through bankruptcy court in less than a decade. Hostess cited increasing pension and medical costs for employees as one of the drivers behind its latest filing.

Even if they are liquidated, somebody will buy their brand/IP and just continue to manufacture the brand in the name of a new capitalized company free of union contracts. Not necessarily the end if the era.

Will Twinkies now be made in China? That would cross some kind of line I think.

Maybe made in the USA owned by the Chinese (probably a Euro company actually). When they first ran into trouble, I heard an analyst talking about it. Their position is that the brand/product line would definitely be valuable enough to be snapped up and getting out from under the weight of the old debt from past bad decisions at the company could reenergize the brand as the new owners would not be inhibited from expanding the product line the way the current company is.
