Bill Kristol: “It won’t kill the country” to raise taxes on millionaires

No. But the thought of people like you in charge of how much Govt. is "enough" horrifys me.

yeah, the thought of someone like me telling you that you are entitled to anything and everything you are willing to pay for probably is a scary thought.

lets see

we pay and get little in return

you get stuff and don't pay for it

We trade what we pay for with what we pay for?

its not like you are giving us a fair value to start with

our taxes go up and we don't get any benefits

you get less benefits that you don't pay for anyway

so you get LESS free stuff and we pay more

sounds like we are getting screwed

Then you all can go wa waa waaa all the way home and count your collective $40 trillion nest egg. I really could give a crap. It won't be the first time we had to drag some people kicking and screaming along our way to a better future for all of us. You ain't heavy your my brother....

meh....Sometimes he's right, sometimes, like this stupid comment, he's wrong...Bottom line, that's his opinion. In the end it matters not one bit more than yours or mine.

wow, the fascist wet dream arises from behind the facade of kum bay yuh liberalism

but then again, collectivism is collectivism no matter what cute names its proponents give it

No more than the thought of more government bothers you.

so you admit that your motivations come not from what would make society better but what bothers people you dislike because they are better off than you are?

thanks, I knew that all along.

These are the taxes that are coming into play on Jan 1, 13. They effect everyone. Not just the rich. The middle class is going to be hit. Small business owners are going to be hit. The rich will be hit. The poor are going to get hit. Happy new year!

Nice spin.

What BS. Our FIT system is based on progressive taxes, it's not because we want to punish anybody. It's because they WORK. The progressive tax system increases growth and more specifically growth that is equal across all income classes. We are a consumer economy and we grow by increasing consumer spending not by cutting taxes on those that save most of their income anyway. So stop the whining, if you are paying higher taxes when this is all over it's because you are making more than 98% of us and an extra 3% on your income above $250,000 is peanuts for you.

Rhetoric. What is the middle class sacrificing?

They're already in a higher tax bracket. Bleed turnips much?

Uh-uh. It's called government take over. Washington has no business piling programs on us. It's Communistic and therefore, oppressive.

Actually, its called representative democracy.

If the people wish to tax a certain income group at 90% in order to fund national healthcare, retirement at full wages or just build a 1000 foot statue of Bullwinkle, and they put enough pressure on their representatives to make that happen, it is the right of the people and therefore the government.

Yep, it is the right of the individual to be a dumb ass as well, but the hope is that there are more that are not dumb asses than those that are....;)

Given the people we keep electing as our representatives, that may just be a vain hope.

And hopefully those minority groups that want that seat at the table drop some of the arrogance, and join the discussion. ;)

Holy ****! Are some conservatives actually opening their eyes? Are they finally banking away from this "no taxes on the rich" bull****? Are they finally gonna sacrifice the interests of the richest of the rich for the rest of the American public?

If there is ever a common sense plan that would include taxing "the rich" I am sure people would go along with it. I have never heard Obama come down on carried interest because it impacts the fat cats who contribute to his campaign. You need to raise the number you called rich above 250K or someone like Schumer from NY will go nuts, because you are certainly not rich living in New York City on 250K, can't really afford a condo to live in.

Only if they first pass an amendment.

That's where the Republic ends, and where Marxism begins. It's called a bunch of takers offering up their freedoms to a group of bureaucrats who are more than happy to head up the Bullwinkle objective just so the same bureaucrats can gain total power over the people.
