Prove it. Where in the tax code is this a deductible business expense?
it's a deductable expense. however, when you do a promotional giveaway, you can only deduct the cost of the ingredients/materials you used to make the item you're giving away, not the 'retail' price.
so yes, papa johns did, or could have, legally deducted whatever the cost of the raw materials to make their pizzas are.
If you don't understand legitimate business expenses, no one can help you. Advertising/Promotion is a tax-deductible expense.
