Obama Wins Florida

Jon Stewart on Florida: “Here’s the good news: The election was decided without them. For once, Florida’s clusterf---ery is irrelevant.’’

You can thank the much-maligned Electoral College for that. And in 2000, the cluster**** would have been nationwide without it.

With Florida firmly in the Obama column, we an now move forward to Republicans strongly committed to making Obama only a two term president.

Firmly may be the wrong word to use...Obama only on Florida with 74,000 votes....If the Romney campaign had a better ground game they would have most likely won that star...so wit that little votes between them I would say its much 50/50 for and against Obama....However with that said...he did win it.

Compared to what Bush 'won' Florida by in 2000, this is a FIRM enough win to set in cement.

this comment is not meant to insult any Floridians. i have visited your state for a science conference, i had a great time there, and i'd be happy to live there. that being said, the election there was a disgrace, and i'm not convinced that it wasn't on purpose. the seven hour line bull**** is an effective poll tax, and it needs to be fixed. if Florida won't fix it, the federal government needs to. one of the enumerated powers of federal government is to ensure a republican form of government to the states. when state government is actively working to suppress the vote, it's time for action.

Just tonite on the toob I saw an interview with a few Floridians. They said they think that Flori-DUH...has got to get it's act together. "Every other state can have an election, and do it right, why not us?"

WHY NOT US???

Indeed...

Exactly, it's almost as if they would have preferred Gore. My Gawd did we dodge a bullet on that one. :)

It's not even about Gore. It's about the national popular vote having been close enough to trigger a nation-wide recount, if the winner were determined by it.

Who would have wanted that? No one sane.
