House panel to hold hearing on Libya attack with top Obama intelligence advisers | Fox News

A House committee is planning to hold a hearing next week on the Libya consulate attack, following up on an issue that Republicans had emphasized before the presidential election in questioning President Obama's foreign policy record.
Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the consulate in Benghazi. A local Libyan extremist group is suspected of carrying out the attack, but the Obama administration has been criticized for its confusing explanation for the strike and for security warnings that apparently weren't heeded.
The House Intelligence Committee will hold its hearing on the attack on Nov. 15, Fox News has learned. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, CIA Director David Petraeus and Matt Olsen, director of the National Counterterrorism Center, are expected to testify.
The Senate Intelligence Committee plans to meet the same day to discuss the Libya attack, but that hearing will be closed to the public.
Time to answer up. Not surprised the Democratic controlled chamber will hold closed sessions.

It should be closed considering the intentional leaks by the Republican's in the hearings that have been held.... seems the GOP cant keep a freaking secret anymore.

But good they have to answer some questions... shows accountability... something ironically enough the GOP seem to lack.

You don't know that they leaked anything.

Lets see now.... lose the election on Tuesday -announce the witch hunt on Wednesday.

Sounds about par for the course.

I know you have a hard on for hating on the GOP but closed doesnt mean closed to the GOP, they'll have members on the committee. I think you'll find closed to the public means it wont be on PBS or anything & tbh thats kind of understable because it will deal with security issues.

I mean you wouldnt want a bunch of terrorists watching that sort of information.

"Hey, Achmed, are you taking notes? He said they use three guards who walk around the compound every 14 minutes and report in via the pleckstreen protocol. Quick write it all down!"

Yes - you did how up in post #1 as scheduled with an attack the President thread. Since you like the word HACK , you seem to want to elevate its use to another level entirely. Nice to see some things can be depended on besides the rising of the sun.

It's a front page news article, deal with it. Want to add anything else?

Of course they did lol, they showed a map of the area with the CIA compound.... one of their members had to shout up to cover the map and pictures because the CIA compound was a secret. That was your buddy Issa who did leaked secret information and put the lives of American's and their backers in danger.

Then whoever provided that map is at fault. Do you really think they would intentionally show a classified map during a hearing? Do you have any idea about securiing classified documents, bet you don't.

Ahh the "blame someone else" defense.

Listen.. I agree there is a need for a fair hearing on this... so as long as Issa and his goons dont run it, then it will be fine. Let the truth come out... as long as it does not damage US national security of course.

It's likely the Obama administration provided the map, and it's more likely the Obama admin has been leaking info given the internal blame game that has been going on between the state dept and the CIA and the White House.

But you keep deflecting, while we discuss the matter. Tell me again how YOU care about our national security.

Investigations and questions regarding Benghazi have been going on since it happened. It was said BEFORE THE ELECTIONS that hearings would be held. Your post is a blatant distortion of reality, and is really friggin' pathetic.

More passing the buck and blaming others.

Come on, you are the one deflecting and have zero intention like Issa to get to the bottom of this. You and Issa and the GOP see a chance for another Ken Starr type situation where you blow a quarter of a billion dollars on an investigation that finds nothing and in the same time **** block the President and anything he wants to do.

Tell me again how YOU care about our national security.

Since when is basic national security a US thing only? I would have the same opinion if it happened in Denmark, Spain, UK or anywhere like that.. but unlike the US, we in Europe usually keep our secret things... you know secret.

90% of what we talk about here comes from the news. To state that is irrelevant and immaterial to the reality that this is being done for partisan political purposes.

Deal with that.

NO. What is pathetic is this attempt to politicize foreign policy decisions which should be discussed behind closed doors. I certainly DO NOT object to the proper inquiries being made. I do object to turning them into a three ring circus to simply try to score political points and keep us in a perpetual election cycle where its all political gamesmanship all the time.

Time to answer up. Not surprised the Democratic controlled chamber will hold closed sessions.

Being that the sessions will entail potentially sensitive documents/information regarding our intelligence community, I'm all for closed sessions. The issue at hand is the handling and streamlining of accurate and classified intelligence reporting (as well as the attention to the request for more security based on said intelligence reporting). Unless you possess the appropriate clearance and "need to know," you have no business hearing the specifics. The fact that it's Democratically controlled is irrelevant. If it were the Republicans, I hope they wouldn't be exposing sources, or other potentially sensitive information, in an open session while discussing the specific failures within our intelligence tradecraft and dissemination channels.
