Although Oregon couldn't follow suit, I am extremely proud of my home state of Washington.

At the very least, I hope President Obama asks the DOJ/DEA to sit down with Colorado and Washington state officials and come up with some ground rules. If the DEA is kicking down doors in Boulder and hauling in people with a few plants, then that's going to be bad for business.

I think the only thing the DEA should concern itself with, for now, is large quantities of marijuana crossing state lines out of Colorado. Until more states move in this direction, people can't be checking their plants and seeds at the Denver airport.

    Just my opinion.

I have no plans to be checking my plants at the airport. Definitely don't want TSA employees to be getting high on stuff that they got for free by confiscating it from me. LOL.

I am very happy about this. They legalized it not just for medicinal purposes, but also for recreational purposes. And not only did they legalize possession, but they also legalized cultivation and distribution. They have torn a huge hole into the war on drugs, and it should substantially reduce drug violence all around the country.

It'll come down to your governors and legislatures in those states. If they have the will to tell the DEA/DOJ to suck it and back it up, the feds will back down. As long as the local law enforcement departments can be persuaded to follow the law, the DEA (and for a good measure the DOJ) is toothless. The feds would have to bring all the resources they need with them for every raid and then find somewhere to hold the prisoners afterwards.

Once the other states see how much money Colorado and Washington are going to make off this, they will want to follow suit. Like others before me have said, it's only a matter of time.

Just remember, when pot becomes legalized across the US, Alcohol will still be the biggest killer.

I hope they have better luck than California. We passed medical marijuana years ago, but that didn't stop the feds from swooping in, closing down legitimately licensed medical MJ stores, confiscating the stock and fining the owners out of existance.

It seems strange nobody is considering why that happened in California, of all places.

The Mexicans are NOT going to allow Obama to take away this source of income from their country.
