what i have noted is that we have one country, iran, which has offered to provide assistance to American disaster victims
that country willing to send America assistance is also a country targeted by israel, which solicits American help to target iran
so, it does not appear unreasonable to wonder what assistance would be offered by our 'friend' when our 'enemy' has reached out to help our people
and we find the answer to that question is absolutely nothing; israel has not offered a thing

and that has to be galling for those in the US whose sympathies reside with actions of the israeli government

That's true. And in this thread, presenting your agenda where it has no relevance can certainly assist in members observing the irrelevancy of your comments. I'm just pointing this out. People can believe what they want.

No, you are not discussing the topic. The topic has zero to do with Israel. Just because your hatred of Israel makes you want to add them to topics that have nothing to do with that country doesn't mean it IS topical. Your derailing the thread to further your agenda. Says something about you... nothing that is not already known, though.

everything to do with the topic. country a is our enemy and offers aid. country b wants us to bomb country a, but offers no aid. that dichotomy may be an indicator of the true character of the nations. one - who may be targeted by us - offers help. the other, doing the targeting and seeking our help to do so, offers no form of assistance

In general, the difference in response to this compared to Katrina by international governments couldn't be more stark.

It's an interesting question to ask why that is. The international response to Sandy is entirely private, but Katrina had a mixture. Why is that? Scale, recession, a president you want to embarrass?
 
The Iranians offer help and there are people here who think the Iranians want to harm America. Allow me to put things into context and hopefully by the time you finish reading you might just hold a more focused rational view.

Iran wants to harm America ? First question is WHY? would they want to harm America ? So far America has gone out of its way to harm Iran with sanctions and "options on the table" so if you were an Iranian wouldn't you be just a little upset ? But what have the Iranians done in response to the sanctions, threats, Cyber attacks, acts of sabotage, the assassination of Nuclear Scientists ? NOTHING.

The Iranians are rational actors and there are high ranking intelligence personnel in the US who have said as much. Iran has never threatened the US and contrary to misguided belief they have NOT threatened Israel. They said they will defend themselves if they are attacked and rightly so and they have a well disciplined Army to use to defend themselves from a pre-emptive strike.

US Awards Iranian Brain Surgeon. Yes you read that right The US awarded Majid Samiei, noted Iranian brain surgeon, its golden prize for contribution to neurosurgery April 2010. American Surgeons would regularly travel to Iran to learn cutting edge techniques. During the Iran Iraq War Iranian Surgeons had to deal with thousands of serious head injuries and their expertise in the field is world renowned ..Now that is cooperation .. Were the US Surgeons harmed or kidnapped ? NO They returned to the US where they used their new found skills to save the lives of US Citizens.

Nuclear threat ? We hear noises coming out of Israel that a Nuclear armed Iran would be a Global threat.. Really? The Iranians have signed the Nuclear non proliferation treaty..Israel refuses to sign.. The Iranians allow inspections whilst Israel refuses to allow inspections of its Dimona plant. Iran has no Nuclear Weapons and no desire to have them for they said "If we had a Nuclear Weapon what would we do ? when the USA has Thousands of weapons" (That is a rational actor putting his country first) For the count Israel has near or more than 300 Nuclear Weapons including Thermal Nuclear Weapons and they like the US have threatened to use them ..Israel also employs "The Samson option" which is basically a suicide attack on the whole world. So WHO is the real threat ?

Terrorism ? This is a shameful subject for although Iran does not use terrorism in any shape or form they have found themselves having to defend themselves from vicious accusations and if you were to put the accusations into context they amount to a terrorist attack on the Iranians. Recent accusations is claiming they had prior knowledge to 911, They were also accused of the failed Federal Reserve Bombing which if you studied that case you would be in tears of laughter. I'll say no more on that matter except to say Will someone PLEASE tell the FBI to stop grooming the mentally unstable so they can arrest them on "Terrorist" charges.

Well that is my thoughts on the subject.. I pray the Iranians generous offer is accepted and i pray like many Americans and Iranians that a positive outcome might be forthcoming.

The Israelis would not like that level of cooperation and i say Big deal ! Israel is no friend to the USA if you want the truth, They use you.. Ariel Sharon said as much as did Netanyahu. Would you like me to quote them ?. The Lavon affair and USS Liberty attack is still fresh in peoples minds; NEVER forget that.
