true story-24 years ago or so I debated Ingrid Newkirk on a talk radio station. She whined that school children were taught about the genocide perpetrated by the Nazis but not that committed by Colonel Sanders against all those poor chickens. The host noted that anyone who thought they were the same ought to be sent to Auschwitz. Newkirk was dead serious. They don't love animals, they hate people

I hate people too but I'm still eating chicken wings for as long as my aorta can handle it.

during the same discussion, the host (the late "Rich King") asked each of us to summarize our position on animal rights

MS Newkirk noted that if you were driving down a road and on one side of the road was a baby in a carriage and the other side was a chimpanzee by the side of the road, and your tire blew it should be a MORAL DILEMMA as to whether you hit the child or the monkey

When it was my turn I noted that if the chimp was my pet I'd merely ask to be compensated for its loss but if the driver hit my child deliberately I'd track the driver down and kill him slow. Rich had to cover his mike he was laughing so hard. Ingrid Looked like someone had stuffed a sea urchin up her

All it takes is meeting one PETA militant vegan and it is hard not to harbor ill will toward them.

All it takes is meeting one animal torturer and it's hard not to harbor ill will towards humans. I spent a year volunteering at my local pound. Last years Christmas kitten turned in to die because it grew up and got larger. A 7 year old dog turned in to die because "we're moving". Police holds on a cat with one eye torn out by the owner. Pit bulls in bulk raised to fight. A cat whose owner moved and left them behind to starve. 83% of the cats that came in left as ashes.

But I still try to see the good in the people that are. And I greatly respect PETA for the many valid efforts they make to stop animal abuse.

    Just my thoughts.

Maybe when all of the humans are taken care of we can spend money on stopping animal suffering, until then I have a serious problem with organizations like PETA. The SPCA does a great job, and protects humans from dangerous animals, they are the only place I would support who are fighting for "animal's rights" atm.

PETA kills more animals than it saves. They are a terrible hypocritical organization.

PETA and it's supporters are pathetic losers, let's not forget what their ultimate goal is, the extinction of the human species.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

    Peta Kills Animals

Washington, DC — Today the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) published documents online, obtained by a Freedom of Information Act request, showing that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed a staggering 95.9 percent of the adoptable pets in its care during 2011. Despite years of public outrage over its euthanasia program, the notorious animal rights group has continued killing adoptable animals at its Norfolk, VA headquarters, at an average of 37 pets every week.

PETA isn't wrong about everything, and that's the tragedy--for the animals, I mean. But who can listen to, much less take seriously, folks who hang out in front of elementary schools with little pamphets about how daddies who fish are bad or this?

Dogs and cats who were faithful until the end -- the end being, way too many times, when their owners simply tired of them.
And PETA euthanize about 90% of the animals they take in. Shameful.
