Apparently CIA officers defied orders to stand down and helped rescue people in the CIA annex, this could have been alot worse if these guys hadn't looked at each other and said go to hell obama. They also called in saying they had the mortar position laser painted and to send bombers, request denied. This is getting worse every day as more facts come out.

Former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were part of a small team who were at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. Consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When they heard the shots fired, they radioed to inform their higher-ups to tell them what they were hearing. They were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange. An hour later, they called again to headquarters and were again told to "stand down."

These guys were former SEALs; I'm not surprised that they stepped up. It's sickening however, that it's taken so long for their story to come out. In the days after Sept. 11th, the Obama admin made political use of their sacrifice in making the claim that security was "sufficient". Now we find out that not only were they not part of the security detail for the ambassador... they were told to stand down. Our SEAL teams no doubt have little respect for their current Commander in Chief - why would they when their honor and sacrifice is used for political gain, and their loved-ones are lied to.

Obama's story is falling more and more apart as the evidence comes out.

The obvious fact of this is the experts are trained to be able do a quick risk assessment and then deploy the best response. Panetta's statement would make sense if it was me doing the assessing because i simply don't know what's going on, what the avaialble assets are, what their capabilities are or what the ground looked like that morning.

If the people in the area did not know this stuff, it would be completely unbelievable. You know what your front yard looks like and when to mow the grass. These guys are paid to understand what's going on.

Our question needs to be, "Why were they prevented from reacting in the way that they could and undoubtedly wanted to?"

Right, we had eyes on the ground, professional eyes calling for help and air strikes and permission to join the battle. This really is sickening and honestly I can barely believe it happened, it is like something out of a movie.

The CIA Refused Requested Helpin Bhengazi?

There is one news organization who has been relentless in covering and investigating the attack on the American consultate in Bhengazi, Lybia. The President has ignored repeated calls for a press conference to speak to the increasing reports and questions coming out of that incident that resulted in the murder of four people and injured up to thirty others.

This morning, it is reported that while the attack was underway, three requests for military backup went out from the consulate. Three times those requests were denied.

For the mainstream media this is a huge yawn which, in my opinion, also borders on the criminal. If this was the previous administration, it would be screamed in headlines and lead stories from all media sources.

Do you care? Should you? How would you feel if it was your loved one sending urgent requests to help from his government and that help was denied?

Re: The CIA Refused Requested Helpin Bhengazi?

I find this news more troubling than the stupid debate over who said what when following the tragedy.

But I think it's a little early to judge on this one.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told reporters at the Pentagon on Thursday that there was not a clear enough picture of what was occurring on the ground in Benghazi to send help.

"There's a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking going on here," Panetta said Thursday. "But the basic principle here ... is that you don't deploy forces into harm's way without knowing what's going on."

The article notes that this group of operatives was very small (it would be helpful, FOXNews, to give an exact number...).

According to other intelligence, we know that officials were informed at some point after the attack that the ambassador and others had holed themselves up in a panic room, built to withstand just this type of assault, with food to last for days. As it turns out, the ventilation system in the room was poor, and they died of smoke inhalation. But if officials thought Stevens and the others were safe in a panic room, it would make sense to wait and not jeopardize the lives of more people.

Too bad someone couldn't be charged with criminally negligent homicide or something.

Re: The CIA Refused Requested Helpin Bhengazi?

But wouldn't Panetta have motivation to downplay this damning new information?

From that Fox Report:

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later on the annex itself was denied by the CIA chain of command -- who also told the CIA operators twice to "stand down" rather than help the ambassador's team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to "stand down."

Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The rescue team from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.

This would suggest that the death count could have been much higher if Woods and the others had not disobeyed orders and went to the aid of their fellow Americans. It suggests that if the requests for security had been heeded in the first place and we had military personnel ready for any trouble, maybe all the deaths and injuries could have been prevented.

If it is you who or your loved one who is under attack by militant Jihadists, and you call for help, do you want those responsible for safety in a foreign land to tell those who can help to stand down?

Re: The CIA Refused Requested Helpin Bhengazi?

This is outrageous. To think that Obama would hold back help from these brave Americans for political reasons boggles one's mind........Heads should roll on this.

If it turns out to not be true, are your beliefs about the situation going to change?

Re: The CIA Refused Requested Helpin Bhengazi?

Its quite damning, I wonder what possible reason the decision maker in this case had for not sending in help.

Re: The CIA Refused Requested Helpin Bhengazi?

Definitely gonna be something to keep updated on.

Perhaps the "real media" is waiting for answers instead of salivating and pointing fingers prematurely.

Just the use of the safe room should have been reason enough to send in the troops without having to be asked!
BTW: do you have a link for that?

Yeah, the 'real media' waited for 'I didn't have sex with that woman!' LOL. The 'real media' has essenetially turned on Obama, this will be no different!

You and I have a different definition of the word "evidence."

No doubt denial has a definite effect on definitions.

Well, the truth came out after that investigation.

Re: The CIA Refused Requested Helpin Bhengazi?

This particular act of cowardice on Obama's part will cost him the vote of every American that ever served in the military, particularly those that served in combat. American fighting men die before leaving their friends on the battlefield, they dive onto hand grenades to save their friends. It is a matter of honor, a code of the warrior, the proud tradition of fighting Americans throughout our proud history.

But now we have Obama.

A foolish manchild neophyte, who has no discernible connection to American history, pride, military, honor, traditions and even the American culture.

To have saved our own men would have required the death of Muslims. That was Obama's choice.

This singular event marks Obama as a disgusting, non-American coward, who understands nothing of manhood. It's difficult to describe the nauseating disgust his name now evokes. He is not one of us. He should be court martialed for dereliction of duty and cowardice in the face of the enemy.

Fear of pissing off the natives maybe. Nevertheless, the safety of our own comes first, I don't care what it takes.

Re: The CIA Refused Requested Helpin Bhengazi?

This disgusts me to no end. We have a cover up from the CIA, the State Department and the administration itself. The more information that comes out, the worse and worse it looks for the Obama administration and their cover up. This makes Watergate look like a pimple. This cannot be allowed to go unpunished. How anyone can vote for Obama after this is beyond me.

Tyrone Woods and the other two who ignored the ridiculous orders to stand down should be given medals and promotions. They knew the orders were wrong and that American lives were at stake. They saved lives by not following those orders. Had they followed them, there would have been more than 4 killed that day.

this is why conservatives are not taken seriously. You guys think you know the truth when in fact, you are really hoping that you do.

so sad.

Certainly it's the good life for you down there in Southern California, but in many remaining parts of the United States, this is something you wouldn't want to get caught attacking and ridiculing Americans about. I understand it's easy to get caught up in and feel pretty cute in your flippant liberal nonsense, might be best for you to just remain silent in a foreign culture this time. Realize you're a guest and always will be, don't dirty the house up.
