5 PEOPLE Die from Monster Energy FDA investigates their formula now.

Soooo let me get this straight. A wopping 5 people out of the millions in our whole nation die from drinking mosnter....and the FDA GETS ALL OVER IT.

How many people die from alcohol and alcohol related accidetns each year. And tobacco related cancers and disease? Yet these products are legal and everywhere.

FDA = fooled your dumbass. If its FDA approved, it won't work lol. I love being a nutritional expert and certified for supplementation. If the FDA pulls a product that means its working and helping your body. They don't want that. That means less money for them. Does anyone take vitamin D3? Did you know the FDA doesn't allow vitamin D supplements to have even a fraction of the right amount your body actually needs to see any difference? So even tho it says 10,000 or 1,000 ius, that doesn't mean its all Vitamin D3.

    FDA really pisses me off.

But i love our country. GREED at its finest. lol.

I am glad I can say I never tried to drink any of that crap. Not because I am afraid of dying, but I can do without it. A former co-worker of mine was addicted to Red Bull when it came out. He went through a 4 pack every day at work. When he tried to stop drinking it, he suffered withdrawal symptoms like a chronic alcoholic or drug addict would suffer. It's important to note that he didn't drink alcohol or smoke or do drugs.

I don't think the energy drinks are dangerous enough to kill people, but consumers should be aware of possible addiction to them.
Scientific fact: If you took all of the veins from your body and laid them end to end, you would die.

Here is a link to the story
FDA Investigates Monster Energy Drinks After Deaths - Yahoo! News

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is reportedly investigating five deaths that allegedly have a link to Monster, the energy drink manufactured by the Monster Beverage Corporation. The investigation was prompted by a lawsuit filed against the company by the parents of 14-year-old Anais Fournier, who charge that the girl died of caffeine toxicity after drinking just two Monster drinks, according to reports by Forbes and other media outlets.

The investigation follows years of protests from health officials over the safety of energy drinks, which are not subject to the same regulations as soda. A 16-ounce Monster drink contains 160 mg of caffeine, according to EnergyFiend, while soda is only allowed to contain 72 mg per 12-ounce can as dictated by the FDA itself.

So basically it is consumer stupidity. The cans say not recommended for children, pregnant women and those with a sensitivity to caffeine and depending on the brand or size of the can it usually says no more than 2-3 cans a day.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

I'm curious where this is coming from (the source of the info). I remember seeing similar articles about that energy drink/malt liquor that got banned ("tres locos" maybe?), and all of the deaths involved people mixing it with craploads of other stuff. Usually some combination of alcohol and various street drugs. I wouldn't be surprised if we're seeing the same thing here. Frankly, there's a much better reason not to drink Monster: it tastes like puke.

these stories remind me of how bad parents are. It is like the woman who knew the label said not to eat the raw cookie dough, but she fed it to her kid regularly, and when the stuff was making her kid very sick sick, she kept feeding to her kid because her kid wanted it, and then blamed Nestle.

Run a 100 shot of nitrous through a car motor not built for it enough times, and what do you think will happen? Same thing, really.

But alcohol and tobacco - and many other potentially dangerous products - are regulated. Legal action can fall your way if you buy it for a minor, etc.

    Energy Drinks are not.

It was posted above yours but I agree with you I'm sure it was mixed. The drink alone won't kill you but the actions you combine with it could.

Regulated how? They aren't stopping it from reaching minors. Legal acton can't bring people back from the dead either. And whos to say that the people that died from monster energy drinks were minors?

Steroids show evidence to not be bad for you at all if admitted right. They don't cause cancer and they don't kill you at all. Yet they are illegal, class C to be exact. Same as cocaine. But something that does hurt you, kill you, is perfectly legal.
