If I were the government I'd do this.

I will tell you why... and even if this isn't their intention it will be the knock on effect.

You need to do sometimes silly stuff to get results, what this will do is at least show the dangers of these drinks.

Because they are dangerous if consumed incorrectly, these companies make no attempt I'm aware of to limit their consumers use besides a tiny instruction on the back that says don't drink too much.... yeah that's like Alcohol Companies saying "Enjoy Responsibly" in lower decibals at the end of the commercial.

This isn't about the people who overconsumed and died as a result.

This is about those who aren't dying but will develop heart problems because of these drinks over time and become a burden.

The least hopefully this will do is raise awareness and hopefully if nothing else lead to proper warning labels put on these drinks.

They are honestly marketed as a pick'er'upper you can drink as casually as pop and nothing could be further from the truth for these heart disease inducing chemical messes.

Just checked the article. It's not very useful, unfortunately. I'd like to see some details. Parents freak the hell out about things like this, and are probably disinclined to think that their precious perfect child was, perhaps, using Monster to chase shots of tequila (which is probably a bad idea).

Lol right now parents are grounding their kids for drinking monster. And I agree. Kid's do some really stupid things. I mean I think we are going to hear soon lets bet who can get closer to dying and who ever goes farther wins. Just like the race to the edge of a cliff who ever stops first loses lol. Those kind of people need to do those things tho, to keep the stupid off the earth.

There's a warning on the cans for a reason.
I love the NSA. It's like having a secret fan-base you will never see, but they're there, watching everything you write and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that I may be some person's only form of unconstitutional entertainment one night.

There's a warning on the can? What does it say? (I'm just curious. I've only had Monster once, and it was disgusting.)

Not sure if the states is the same but as far as I remember (been awhile since I've had a can).

It's just in tiny print on the back saying "Do not drink more than (X) ml a day of this stuff"

Gotcha. Seems like good (and hopefully obvious) advice. The same is, of course, true of coffee, or anything else with caffeine in it.

This warning or some variation of this warning as far as I know is on the back of every energy drink can.

    redlineback.jpg
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Comparing Coffee and Energy drinks is like comparing a cruise missile to a Nuclear Bomb in terms of it's effect on the body.

These drinks are serious business and they haven't been around long enough for us to understand it's effects, but nobody should be drinking this stuff.

I'm not really knowledgeable about this aspect of the law, but that strikes me as boilerplate stuff. I suspect you're right that every energy drink has something like it. Also, if you're drinking three of those awful things every day, you need help of some kind. For ****'s sake, get a decent night's sleep. Switch to tea. It ain't rocket science.
