New York (CNN) -- A federal appeals court in New York became the nation's second to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act, finding that the Clinton-era law's denial of federal benefits to married same-sex couples is unconstitutional.

The judge who wrote the opinion is actually quite conservative. The fact that the decision came from a conservative judge tends to make it more likely that the Supreme Court will strike it down as well.
 
I hate stupid equal protection decisions. This was clearly a full faith and credit violation case.
 
It's great to see common sense and intelligence winning over hypocrisy and ignorance.
 
It is both good and SHOCKING to see something logical come out of ANY government mind in NY.


Just don't try to eat any trans fats, or drink a coke that is too big, etc.
 
DOMA is doomed, though this does not mean much. SCOTUS will rule shortly.
