If this thread doesn't devolve into baseless Christian-bashing (and maybe it already has), then I stand corrected. However, I am willing to bet that is the direction the thread takes... and that was the OP's intent to begin with.

No, you won't. The hate the other guy burns has never been a valid excuse for your own hatred. You're stuck in your own, and no amount of movement by other people will save you from that. That YOU must do for yourself.

It's an anti-bullying day, generalized to mobilize support against any form of bullying. Anti-gay bullying falls under that rubric, but it hardly exhausts the subject.

You see persecution in this because you want to feel persecuted. You have a martyr-complex.

They only reason i truly dislike organized religion is becasue the spew hate. Stop spewing hate, and your feelings wont be hurt.

Fortunate for us, then, that this isn't an "anti-bullying-against-gays" day. It's an anti-bullying day, point blank. All forms of bullying are fought against.

In fact it defines them. I would guess that AFA spends more time thinking about Gays and Lesbians than Gays and Lesbians think about it. Seriously. The AFA is obsessed with it. It's all you hear them say. Their monotonous drone of hatred never seems to cease. It is to the point that when you hear American Family Association you immediately think of Gays and Lesbians! AFA is now forever linked to Gays and Lesbians. Such is the strength of their hatred.

I'm not a liberal - or an egalitarian humanist, for that matter - so I can cop to it: I absolutely do hate Christianity. And I do not regard its practitioners as my equals.

That said, you're not being persecuted. Tear yourself down from that cross.

Do you agree with the AFA's stance in the topic? Are you against equality for all (this means gay marriage)? Should kids be able to bully gays?

I don't think that's the case. That's how the folks who are anti-chrtistian, or deeply involved in the behaviors see it, but not how the AFA sees it. The AFA does not believe homosexuality should be legitimized behavior in our society, and especially not in our educational system. You may disagree with them, that's fine. But they are standing by and promoting that belief as you stand by and promote yours.

Being against the legitimizing of a behavior does NOT mean you endorse the bullying of those who practice that behavior.

Yes. Being that I'm a profoundly illiberal individual, I don't regard 'bullying' as an objective evil. Far worse to me is deliberate self-victimization, the weak-willed product of Nietzschean ressentiment: an inferiority that recognizes itself to be inferior.

I don't care about this anti-bullying day at all. What bothers me is your need to pretend to be the real victim in all this. It's weak. You're weak.

None of the above. It's a special interest group bitching about a program some other special interest group created. It's completely irrelevant, and serves only to divert attention and effort away from real issues.
