Obama: 'We Don't Believe Anybody Is Entitled to Success in This Country' [W:108]

Though he believes people are entitled to healthcare, an education, food, and much much more. That part of his comment was a filthy blatant lie.

Which part? If that is true would Romney do better and would Romney tell the truth?

What do you mean by Randroid Utopia? For one, I have no idea what Randroid means and two, who said anything about a Utopia?

You badly need to get hep to the scene

Urban Dictionary: randroid

1. randroid
A follower of Ayn Rand's objectivist philosophy, with emphasis on the more cultic aspects of the movement. Often marked by exclusivist rhetoric, dogmatic individualism, and determinedly narcissistic self-praise.
That randroid keeps telling everyone how great he is by being "true to himself." Bah.

2. randroid
A person of high school age, typically white and invariably born to an upper-class or upper-middle-class family. Will, upon reading Atlas Shrugged at the recomendation of randroid friend, believe their comfortable position in life to be attributed to their own efforts, talents, and imagined superiority, instead of the five to six-figure income of his parent(s).

If interested in politics, randroids make a point of vocally berating any forms of socialism, not thinking twice of saying people who can't get by without some sort of welfare don't deserve to live, within earshot of students who have after-school jobs out of necesity.

The randroid affliction sometimes lasts into college, depending on whether or not the afflicted recieved a trust fund from their parent(s). If so, randroids can be identified at this point by their difficulty in holding things with their hands, due to the near-total absence of friction caused by a lack of anything resembling calluses. If not, they cease being randroids by getting a job and a sense of humor.
That randroid said me and my family was scum when he saw my mom paying with food stamps, so I gave him a swirly.

This part:

The only thing I was guaranteed/ entitled to was if I sit on my ass I will become a failure.

He does not believe that.

And no, Romney would not do any better.

Ok then, but I don't really like Ayn Rand.

I'm pretty sure Obama isn't culpable of being called a socialist commie HERE.

I think what he meant was that nobody is given success off the bat. You need to earn it... by taking the opportunities that are given to you, and that america is still the land of opportunity.

However, it did come out wrong. I think Obama is showing his exhaustion. No surprise seeing as how he has been campaigning for about 2 years already.
He needs a break. Let's give him one for the rest of his life. Imagine a government job where after 3.5 years one can become worth ten million dollars.

Romney seemed fresh and full of vigor. If the poor Bamster is tired after all of that golf, parties, fundraising, and campaigning we should give him at least a four year break.

All we need to do is and in social justice and his thought is complete. His argument is that not everybody gets a fair shot. We are not all tall, dark and handsome or well-built, comely and attractive. We do not have the same IQ. We do not all make good decisions.

Everybody does their fair share? What does that mean? To the one term Marxist it means that some should pay the way for the rest.

Everybody is playing by the same rules...he is a liar, of course, what rules did his campaign contributors play by? He used the taxpayer to enrich his contribution bundlers at our expense.

There are TWO things wrong with your statement in bold:

1) As free citizens, we have a right to support whatever candidate we choose. And in so doing, we make volunteer donations to said political candidate and/or campaign and/or party affiliation we so choose. That is enshrined in our Constitution as a voting right.

2) How soon we forget about SuperPACs. :doh

I agree with Obama's words... I wasn't entitled to success, I just took the opportunity to become successful.. ( i'm not so sure we are entitled to opportunity though...not with the government's latest habits of providing opportunity for some and making opportunity much harder for others)

I don't really pay much attention to Democrats speaking about success...if you are poor, they want you to be more successful... if you are middle class, they revere and celebrate you... if you are successful, you are just a revenue source who is probably greedy, didn't earn your success ethically, and should probably feel guilty about your success and give your money to the government as penance.

Nicely put, Thrilla.

You might be pleasantly surprised with Romney, given his success in several areas, but you will not be surprised with the performance of Barack Obama. It will not be just more of the save but there is every indication he will be worse. Please recall his remarks in this article and look to see who is the power player in the photo.

Yes, the one term Marxist, flexible with our enemies. president Barack Hussein Obama.

Honestly, what is with you and Ayn Rand?

We don't have any Randoids. I'm not convinced they even exist, in any significant number. Ghostly strawmen. It's like someone is stuck in highschool.

Considering how many Republicans in the primaries were willing to vote for "not Romney," the gymnastics they're going through now to declare that he will "save us from certain destruction" are kind of fun to watch.

We've had 2 straight failures in the White House. If Republicans have their way, they want to make it 3.
Are you happy with the second Carter term? I am not. We need a Reagan but he died. So Romney will just have to do the best he can.

Honestly, what is with you and Ayn Rand?

Are you really, actually, truly, sincerely pretending that you are not aware, informed, or up on the fact that lots of right libertarians started out as Randroids and read her nonsense?

Is that what you want us to believe? ;)

If that is what you are selling, I suspect you will get no customers.

yeah,,,, sure..... whatever .... like I made up both of those websites and wrote that stuff myself.:)

Look like you are borrowing a page from the rules of Fight Club.

You are comparing apples to oranges. The purpose of a business is to make money, and anything it can do towards that goal is amoral because the objective is amoral.

By contrast, the purpose of our government is to serve our needs. The failure to do so is immoral. You cannot look at a profit & loss statement for a government and conclude it was successful or not, as this is not the yardstick.
Do you believe that earning a profit is amoral?

Awesome. In my opinion there is very little that is more moral than earning profits.

I've never seen Fight Club, and I don't see any Randoids. Where are they?

I'm not sure where you are getting this stuff but I was never a follower of Ayn Rand. I will admit I read Atlas Shrugged but I'm not sure how you can use that against me since people of all types has read that book. In fact, I would think someone like you would have had to have read the book to have such a strong view on it and be protesting it in your sig. Frankly, I don't care about it and it means nothing to me.

As for her, I have no opinion of her. I never bothered to care enough to even learn that much about her and I don't care if you want to blast her to your hearts content. Have fun with it really. I think it tells something about you when you bring her up in discussion for no reason like you from time to time.

There is nobody who pays 35% tax rate and then follows that in the same year with another 15% on the same money.

If there is, please show them to us.
Straw, straw everywhere. Have you no sense of shame?

Apparently you did not read the links I provided. Rest assured that if you just go back a bit they are there for your education and illumination.

It's really the same thing as calling every lefty a communist.

Are you surprised?

I'm ok on education and illumination, thanks.

That fine and dandy. You can call yourself what you want to call yourself. Its a free country.

And others can identify what they see in your posts and in your views and compare them to others who sound a whole lot like your are in mutual agreement about many things.

That is part of freedom and liberty. God Bless America!!!

Are you surprised?

I'm ok on education and illumination, thanks.

Apparently not since you admitted your own lack of awareness about these things under discussion.

Paranoid demonizing hackery in the form of calling the opposition extremist names =/= awareness.

I know plenty about Rand, Niet, Mach and the rest. You're not talkin' to an uneducated, intellectual child. Spare me your condescension.
