The teacher should be disciplined at all imo. This is a non-story.
It's probably a non-story to you because you seem to have not read the story. There was a whole lot more going on than the mere expressing of an opinion.
If you claim sexual harassment to be wrong, yet you defend anyone on your side for any reason,
then you are a hypocrite and everything you say on the matter is just babble.

Meh, I just think the girl's family is making too much of a deal about this by getting the media involved. Same case would be if it were a student with an Obama T-Shirt somewhere in Mississippi. Worse stuff happens at schools everyday that barely gets reported. I am in no way defending the teacher for her stupid actions; she should (probably already did) be disciplined. On the other hand, I think the girl is (or was) exaggerating by being afraid of going to school. Honestly, it was said that no one really minded her t-shirt. Why would they do so thereafter? I don't think the teacher told them to beat her or whatsoever.

That is the difference between children (democrats) and adults (Republicans).
So, you actually believe that there is a big difference between the Tweedledumocrats and the Tweedledeeblicans? What makes you believe such an absurdity?

I don’t think that is so absurd at all, it’s no secret that teachers as a whole have a liberal lean to them. It seems that in the more recent times, that they aren’t afraid to express that lean in the class rooms, and knock, put down, or ignore students that go against their lean.

First, I've met hundreds of teachers during the course of my 38 years in education, and they run the gamut from borderline socialist to John Birch.

Second, even if what you said is true, it doesn't mean that a rabidly partisan Republican wouldn't do the same thing that this Democrat did. Partisans are even more alike than the two major parties.

Re: Teacher Ridicules Student for Romney T-Shirt

I heard in recent reports about this that the teacher told the girl something to the effect that "this is a democratic school, you can't wear that shirt"

If this is true, there must be some kind of mental illness associated with this teacher.

I wasn't aware there were democratic and republican school in the school districts.

This article may give the teacher grounds for a slander lawsuit.

Quote what the teacher said, exactly, and give the background context for the comment.

Why wear a political shirt if you aren't willing to dip into the frey a bit?
