I agree. We shouldn't defend bad actions regardless of the person's religion or ideology. I just see no reason to blame all Muslims for what the radical ones do. I think the same is true for Christians. When the radical Christians burn Korans for the purpose of offending Muslims, it is a passive agressive act against Muslims. Then, when those Muslims react to this offense, those radical Christians don't want to take their amount of blame for the problem they caused. Blame should be placed on the people causing the problems on all sides. Currently, we are seeing the radical Muslims acting out against these offenses. The moderate Muslims have much thicker skin and are more tolerance. I also think the average American doesn't understand what the Muslims in the ME are being told about the US in general. Many of them are being told that the US government and people are against Islam. There are aggitators (Christian and Muslim) stirring up the unrest, and I put blame on the aggitators more than anyone else.

Radical religious folks make their rleigion look bad no matter what religion they represent. When you make a case against all Muslims for the actions of the radicals, you just make the problem much worse and create an environment of hate towards all Muslims. This leads to more unrest. It is time to stop this sort of discord, IMHO.
How can you keep insisting this is the behavior of radicals when it is so widespread, common, and accepted?

That is pretty much the definition of mainstream right there.

Again, how does this explain 23 muslim Countries? Furthermore you say nothing about those Religious Leaders or Teachers Sending students or people to the protest. Some no more than 12 years old to the So called Protest. Whats the explanation.....you going to say 12 year old kids and teenagers are extremists?

Whats the explanation for not accepting what out Laws are with governing our Citizens in our own Country......did you say?

What the India Minister and the trade Association that put the Bounty on the the US citizens head. You going to say there are extremist to. Did they come up with a way to determine which are extremists that were burning US Flags, Shouting Death to America, and then Blaming Israel whom had nothing to do with this incident in the US?

Course when you have a reasonable explanation for 23 Countires of Muslims going off.....committing acts of Violence, attacking innocent people, then there just might be some ground for you to stand on.

I think it is incumbent upon all of us to actually learn a bit about Muslims, especially in regards to the differences between Muslims and Christians, the actual attitudes of Muslims, and the belief systems involved.

Otherwise, we just end up tossing out false equivalences and bland platitudes by comparing the two religions in ways they really are not comparable.

Widespread would be worldwide. This is only within the ME. I wouldn't call what is going on in the ME as mainstream. Far from it.

It isn't mainstream relative to what we are accustomed to, but unfortunately, it effects us, because we are seeing a gradual movement of likeminded-ness moving into western culture, and for some reason, some refuse to look at it, and address it for what it is.

I didn't address a lot of your post because you are talking about what is happening in the Middle East. Those things are not happening world wide. There are millions of Muslims worldwide that have nothing to do with the radicals in the ME stiring up unrest. You seem to be trying to make the case that the radical Muslims represent all Muslims. That is simply not the truth.

What I find interesting is how those who indulge in apologia accuse others of having unrealistic views when their own are equally far from reality.

So, just to make sure I understand you correctly, you are seriously advocating that we should judge an entire religion of a half a billion people by the actions of an infinitesimally small minority? You're sticking to your guns on that, are you?

You sure you wanna go that route?

My advice? Think about what you are saying. I mean step outside of your anger induced irrationality-bubble and really THINK about it. Not too late to retract.
