Controversial 'Piss Christ' art back in NY

Aren't there laws against the ill-approved containment of specimens when the storage of potentially contagion carrying bodily fluids could potentially come into contact with the public.

The reason is because there is a very obvious double standard at play here which as nothing to do with free speech but rather the fact that Obama and his Administration bend over backwards to appease the Islamists but he couldn't care less about any appeasing comments when the Christians are offended.

I wouldnt say Obama has bent over backwards to the arab world, I think he has tried to distance the US from the video which was the right course of action.

You can say the same about this film that made such a horrible uprise in the Arab world. It was an old film and the shock might have worn off too... but no.... and American Ambassador and many others on both sides have been killed because of it.

Different cultures different reactions.

The film is only like a year old. And it has little intellectual value.

I do not think it is cultural. I believe the rioters and killers were lawless lunatics. There were laws in place that made their actions criminal in nature.

If their goal was to piss off those who practice Islam, it seems to me they wouldn't be criticizing Obama, they'd be saying "keep up the good work"

Frankly, I wish he'd just keep his freaking mouth shut period, about anything which could be offensive to religous groups. He can't open his mouth without pissing all over himself with apologies for our freedom of speech.

can you give me some examples of Obama being offensive to relgious groups so I can get an idea of what your talking about?

Obama's silence is this instance could have been interpreted as as endorsement to these irrational and crazed people. No matter what he or any president would have done it would have been wrong in someone's eyes.

My issue personally is far less with the Obama administration and far more with those who suggested free speech should be abridged, thus my comment.

I don't expect Obama to come out and say anything about this, because I didn't particularly feel there should've been a need or purpose to say anything about the movie in the first place and there'd be even LESS of a reason to say anything about this.

Then instead of taking an apologetic stance, he should have defended freedom of expression, based on principle alone.

First of all there's a difference between the Muslim population at large and those who took to the streets.

Secondly you're assuming the folks that did take to the streets are rational in thought.

To them, film made in USA = USA Government, USA President, USA Embassy etc.

The Obama administration is doing what's called damage control. Sure it's going to piss some of you off. But in the annals of history it's a small price to pay.

Yes. It seems that every morning, when I turn on the news, and see new protests in the ME, supposedly about an idiotic film which offended them, I understand why they were ruled by dictators for so long.

The Obama administration distanced itself from that movie for the same reason any administration with any kind of ****ing understanding of the words "foreign policy nightmare" would.

worst job in the world sometimes I do not envy it. We can chat on here how any president should of done this or done that but at the end of the day we could never imagine being in that position, something I think many posters overlook.

I am tired as well this senseless killing. However, I have to focus on who did this and not why they did this. There are the authorities and the law which apply to these rioters and killers who are the ones to hunt down and kill not the average person who is simply trying live their life.

One of the SEALs that dies was there specifically to trackt down the people who had some weapons and then inform his group who would have killed these people. That is what I am talking about, not the killing of innocents.
