Just after midnight, authorities descended on the Cerritos home of the man believed to be the filmmaker behind the anti-Muslim movie that has sparked protests and rioting in the Arab world.
Authorities waited until most media had left for the day.

On Friday, U.S. courts spokeswoman Karen Redmond said the Office of Probation in the Central District of California is reviewing whether Nakoula, who was convicted on bank fraud charges, violated terms of his probation in relation to the video and its uploading onto the web.

He had been ordered not to own or use devices with access to the Web without approval from his probation officer -– and any approved computers were to be used for work only. "Defendant shall not access a computer for any other purpose," the terms read.
Restrictions were also placed on him enlisting others to get on the Internet for him.....snip~

Looks like they will find something to arrest him for. Thoughts? Think this will now affect Freedom of Speech Laws?

I hope he will enjoy being Obama's scapegoat.

Yeah, I heard on the Radio the Feds called LA County Sherriffs and told him to go and pick him up. Plus now the Taliban stated they Launched a Specific Offensive over the release of the film.

Why would it affect Freedom of Speech?

I hope he will enjoy being Obama's scapegoat.

or more likely the rights scapegoat/new poster child.. a new "joe the plumber"..

he's not looking so loud and proud now.. in cowardly fashion hiding his face from the world and cowering on US soil from the deed he's done.

im sure he's expecting the US govt to protect him as well..

"The deed he's done"...I'm sure you would be saying the same if, say, Michael Moore was in his shoes, eh?

My guess is that he wishes the government would leave him alone.

What does that mean?

Isn't it obvious to you?

Obama needs SOMETHING to try to help diffuse the situation all over the world. What better than to be able to say that the guy who made the video is getting what he deserves?

It is a WWII poster that refers keeping quiet and not discussing troop movements, shipping and such.

This poster is published by the House of Seagram as part of its contribution to the national victory effort circa 1941 - 1945. From the records of Poster from the records of Office of Government Reports, U.S. National Archives., U.S. National Archives.

no.. but im ok with you thinking that if itll make you feel better..

and im sure he not only wants the govt. to leave him alone, he's scared and in hiding from everyone.. a sure case of 'buyers remorse'..
he should stand up and be proud, proclaiming his freedom to incite violence among the cavemen all around the world... while hiding like a coward on US soil.

Thank you for declaring your bias. I'm not surprised.

Frankly, I think you should be more concerned with Obama's actions...and lack of actions...in this whole affair.

Wow! What's next? A costitutional amendment making it a crime to burn The American Flag? Oh wait, the islamopologists support that freedom.

Nobody's rights have been stripped here.

Another staffer who worked on the film said he knew the producer as Sam Bassil. That's how he signed a personal check to pay staff.

Several other aliases -- Mark Basseley Youssef, Yousseff M. Basseley, Nicola Bacily and Malid Ahlawi -- were all listed as aliases in the indictment. Other court documents listed Thomas J. Tanas, Ahmad Hamdy and Erwin Salameh also as aliases.....snip~

He had every right to make the film he did.
He's scum for trying to trick the people involved and lying about it etc.
If he had just made it and was candid about it, he wouldn't be scum. He'd be another confrontational contrarian tweaking people's noses. Tweaking noses and pulling beards is a fine, honorable and necessary tradition which is a just demesne of assholes--it provides them with a socially useful function.

Personally, I think that there need to be more of these ultra-stupid, ultra-crude, propaganda pieces made. Keep them coming until indignation fatigue sets in for all the morons who get murderous over it.

How much of a fool and someone else's tool do you have to be to let the people who made that film have that kind of an influence on your actions?

Now that this guy is in custoday I assume all our embassies are now protestor-free zones?

I'm going to blame this latest unrest on "Bin Laden is dead...GM is alive".

youd already made up your mind about me, so your view of me comes without suprise and predictable.(the 'you're totally with us or totally against us' mentality)

im no fan of moore, but at least he isnt scared to show his face in his films or hide behind an oscure alias. 'too loud and too proud' is how id describe him, but not cowardly like this guy.

and from your professional archair foriegn advisory position, just what actions should obama take?

While he had a right to make the film, he did not have the right to publish the film pursuant to the terms of his probation. There are no Free Speech violation arguments as far as I can see.

Actually, what I think about you is a direct result of your words...not some preconceived notion. You, on the other hand, have no problem stereotyping someone on the basis of your bias...a la "you're totally with us or totally against us". I made no such statement.

Hey, you are the one who admitted your bias when you answered my question with a "no". Anyway, I find it hard to believe Moore wouldn't be holed up in his mansion with his security guards...avoiding the public at any cost.

and from your professional archair foriegn advisory position, just what actions should obama take?

He should own up to his failures.

Of course, we'll never see such action from him. He hasn't owned up to one single failure since he started running back in 2007. And, given his penchant for finding someone else to blame, he's found the perfect patsy in this filmmaker.

Nobody's rights have been stripped here.

So I still have a right to say the film is trash and shame on that SOB for insulting Muslims, making Americans look like dolts and putting us at risk?

This idiot Egyptian doesn't speak for me.

To claim that the film creator had placed American lives at risk is highly misleading.
No matter how wrong and hateful the message his film presents he can't be blamed with the reaction of those barbaric, fanatic idiots.

For an example of Obama trying to pass the buck...as is his habit...I give you the following:

White House press secretary Jay Carney said Friday the violent protests throughout the Middle East are not directed at the United States or U.S. policy but are a response to a YouTube video:

CARNEY: We also need to understand that this is a fairly volatile situation and it is in response not to United States policy, and not to, obviously, the administration, or the American people, but it is in response to a video, a film that we have judged to be be reprehensible and disgusting. That in no way justifies any violent reaction to it, but this is not a case of protests directed at the United States writ large or at U.S. policy, this is in response to a video that is offensive to Muslims.

Again, this is not in any way justifying violence, and we have spoken very clearly out against that and condemned it. And the president is making sure in his conversations with leaders around the region that they are committed as hosts to diplomatic facilities to protect both personnel and buildings and other facilities that are part of the U.S. representation in those countries.

The unspun reality is better expressed here:

Carney’s comments lie outside the range of plausible spin, even by Obama administration standards, and if his bosses believe them—as we fear they do—are simply delusional. But they are not without consequence. Nor are Gates’s and Dempsey’s phone calls. They all send the message to America’s enemies that if you kill our diplomats and lay siege to the our embassies, the first move the American government will make is to denounce .  .  . Americans. Our leaders apparently believe that the way to protect Americans from extremists and terrorists abroad is to tell other Americans to shut up.

What’s next? Where does it go from here? There are more than 300 million ways in which Americans expressing themselves might give offense to those who make it their business to be offended. Maybe it’s some other film, maybe it’s a book or even just a tossed-off phrase that our enemies might seize on to galvanize support for their causes. Is the White House going to put every American crank on speed-dial so it can tell them to shut up whenever a mob gathers outside a U.S. embassy or consulate?

~

A president who began his tenure by going to Cairo to say he considered it his “responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear” should not be surprised that the U.S. embassy in Cairo tweets similar apologetics while it is under siege.

It would be nice to have an American administration that stood up for America, for its people and its principles. It would also make the world far less dangerous for Americans—and for decent people of all faiths.

It does stand to reason that a Coptic Christian would not speak for a Wahhabist.

Hate speech is NOT anything, because there is no such thing.

The unspun reality is better expressed here:
Carney cited official releases from Al qaeda operatives directing muslims to kill soldiers as revenge for the film in question, and you label it as spin. You then proceed to cite an opinion piece from the Weekly Standard of all places as an example of empirical, non opinionated truth, when it is in fact, anything but.
