Anit-American violence sweeps across 23 world nations

Obama said he would get the people who killed Americans. WOuld you rather him start several new wars? How forceful do you want him to be?

Does that Count the Taliban who he released from Guantanamo and Afghanistan who have returned to the battle field to kill Americans?

I doubt they would agree. Obama increased drone strikes and has brought down a lot of the terrorist leaders. ANd, he did all this without starting a new war.

Which do you think costs more.....Drone strikes or up close and personal? Okay.....so we have been killing the host of Number 2 men now for half a year? Has that the Number 2 setteled in yet? How many more number 2's killed before it does?

Do you think bombing others in Countries that one has not declared War on should be considered a Lawful Action? Do you hold the same concepts when innocent people are killed from those strikes?

Am not sure people actually want it, I mean in the last poll I read on this subject in Egypt more than 90% were in favor of not taking it.

U.S. grants Egypt $1.3 billion -- poll says Egyptians don't want it - latimes.com

There is around 87 million Egyptians, that means you're precious billion dollar if it actually goes to the Egyptian people (and the bulk of which of course doesn't and goes directly from tax payer to an american war company to support a military dictatorship no less) makes up a measly 11 dollars per person, you seriously expect to buy those people off with 11 dollars each?
Just so you could get a point of reference, a billion dollars is one-twelfth of what Egyptians spend on smoking per year.

Your poll was based on 1000 people. "Opposition to outside aid has grown stronger over time, the poll of 1,000 respondents showed" .:lamo As usual you show nothing that is probative of your statement.

"Survey Methods: Results are based on face-to-face interviews with 1,000 adults, aged 15 and older, and conducted in Jan. 31-Feb 7, 2012, in Egypt."

Further, the poll "found Egyptians had grown less supportive of aid from international groups or other Arab nations."

You really have to do better when attempting to cast aspersions regarding US efforts in Egypt.

There was a violent anti-American protest by hundreds of Muslims in Sydney today. It's still going now as i type. The police are trying to manage it the best they can but it's not pretty.

Ps. Can you please leave Australia off the list of Countres some of you want to eradicate due to these protests?

Thanks in advance.

Yes I heard this earlier.....I heard 18 wounded is that true or is it worse?

Does anyone still think conservatives value the US constitution?

Uhm.....it would depend on which ones. Why were you under the Impression that Neo-Cons and some others were sticklers for the Constitution?

Wrong idea. Select one place. Destroy it. Completely. I think Mecca is the right target. Create a list of Islamist "holy" places. One riot, one place. Even swap. You destroy a Burger King. We destroy a Mecca. Give the people enough warning to depart of they choose to. Otherwise arrange the meeting of the Islamist with Allah.

Then let's convert the survivors to Christianity at the tips of spears if necessary.
And to think, your vote holds the same value as any other. The curse of democracy.

i have to agree with JetBoogieman here, these are tactics Nazi Germany used against Partisans in Russia,Italy and Yugoslavia to dreadful results. All they did was create more recruits for the Partisans and forced them to commit more and more troops that were badly needed elsewhere.

Those tactics worked for the Allies when bombed Dresdan, Bremmen, Wilhamschlaven, Tokyo and Yokohama. The more fighters they recruit, the more of their fighters we kill. It's an age old process that's stood the test of time.

The radical Christians in this country tend to be more passive agressive and thin skined.

I guess the proper response is that no-radical Christians in the USA are not going on rampages and killing people randomly. It seems to be a pathology limited to the radical muslims. Some news report noted that these jihadists live under authoritarian regimes and they could not conceive that some independent idiot could produce a film making funny of their prophet WITHOUT government approval and support so that is why they blame the USA. I suspect they blame the USA because they hate anything not radical muslim though

I agree, I go there often and am always looking for a place settle down in. I do not need another security laden environment.

What about bombings of abortion clinics?

Sure, violence in the US among radicals doesn't happen nearly as often as it does in the Middle East. But, it has happened.

A bunch is quite an understatement, don't you think?

So if the US had not interfered in Libya and Egypt do you think this would have happened?

The actions of a handful of Muslims do not represent everyone else in those countries.

What about the other 98% of them?

Sadly, the 1% radical Christians make the 99$ look bad. Most Christians live what they preach and are very tolerant. The same is true for Muslims. The 1% make the rest look bad. I know some very loving people of all religions and even those who do not subscribe to religion.

The countries in the mid-east know how weak Obama is and they are taking advantage of that weakness....This slap in our face would have never happened under President Bush.

LOL.....have your forgetten about 911? Let me clue you in....it was one of the biggest attacks on our country in the history of our country....oh...and BTW....it happen under the watch of....wait.....wait.....wait...........GWB.

I bet Osama Bin Laden doesn't feel the same way.

During a late-night, 20-minute phone call, Mr. Obama warned Mr. Morsi that relations would be jeopardized if Egyptian authorities failed to protect American diplomats and stand more firmly against anti-American attacks.

linkypoo...

And here is a better description of what happened around this call:

Mr. Morsi initially issued only a mild rebuke of the rioters — and on Facebook — while his movement, the Muslim Brotherhood, called for more protests. And though the Egyptian police coordinated with American officials, Mr. Morsi waited 24 hours before issuing his statement against the militants who stormed the embassy.

But even as demonstrations continued, the official tone changed abruptly after a blunt phone call to Mr. Morsi from President Obama, who warned that relations would be jeopardized if Egyptian authorities failed to protect American diplomats and stand more firmly against anti-American attacks.

The following day, searching for a middle ground, Mr. Morsi appeared on national television, telling Egyptians it was their “religious duty to protect our guests and those who come to us from outside our nation,” including their embassies, and businesses. “I know that the people attacking the embassies do not represent any of us. We all have to cooperate to express opinions while maintaining our principles, our correct peaceful ways that the whole world accepts,” he said.

Relationships will be jeopardized? That's all you got for foreign policy?

Wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you explain why it took so long? Since the Burning of the Qurans was back in April. Got an Answer as to why none has done what you said and the alleged response about tolerance?

Any reason that a Call for Religious Tolerance wasn't released 3 days ago?? Do you think that the Religious Leaders. In this ase Sunni Clerics that made the calls to violence should be dealt with for inciting others to riot?

As I see it, there have been two types of protests. Some of the pretests have been rather peaceful demonstrations. As in Libya, for example, these are people who are finally experiensing being able to protest without fear of government killing them for it. THey were demonstrating their new right of speech. Sadly, thee are bad apples in every bunch. As for the attacks on the embacies and the killing of our Americans, I think the more radical and terrorist part of these groups took it too far or even planned the violence using the protests as a back drop. Of course, this is how I see it, but time will tell once we learn more.

Bush responded. Obama?

I assume it does. Obama seems determined to deal with these terrorists without going to war or stirring up any more Anti-American feelings. I know he talked about going after those who killed Amassadar Stephens and the other three Americans in Libya, but he has been in persute of terrorists who have attacked US citizens all along.
