Anit-American violence sweeps across 23 world nations

The gap between what Obama SAYS and what Obama DOES is canyon-wide.

As for wars, if the situation warrants it -- attacks on embassies ARE acts of war. It should be as forceful as it needs to be to stop it and make sure no one tries it again. Talking will not accomplish this.

There's the actual world, and then there's the fantasy world. I live in the former.

Obama has been using drones to strike terrorist targets. Do you really think it would be wise of us to go to war with countries that are cooperating with us to bring these terrorists to justice? Why would we want to start more wars? Maybe it's easy to call for war when you won't be the one at the front lines or the war won't be fought here.

Best wishes for your son's safe return home.

There is no way all Americans are responsible for the behavior of those across the world who want to kill us. Our freedoms can't be compromised for their zealotry.

This film is just an excuse for them to reveal how they really feel about all Americans, and how many there are willing to kill.

All I am saying is, everytime some preacher wants 15 minutes of fame calling for burning Korans, for example, puts more fuel on the fire. I want to put the fire out, not add more fuel.

I didn't "call for war"; I said "if the situation warrants it."

You're speaking from a deeply confused premise, anyway. First, you say the people who made the video should be locked up, because they incited a riot, implying that the attackers are ordinary folks. Now, you're talking about "terrorists," which would be an entirely different class of person, by your own reckoning. Which is it?

I assume it does. Obama seems determined to deal with these terrorists without going to war or stirring up any more Anti-American feelings. I know he talked about going after those who killed Amassadar Stephens and the other three Americans in Libya, but he has been in persute of terrorists who have attacked US citizens all along.
Perhaps between fund raising events he can apologize again.

How has that "not stirring up anti-American feelings" going?

So we should take away their right to free speech because they get upset about ours?
Let them burn all the flags they want to, as long as they buy them.

But should they attack us they need to be repelled with the force of arms. If the host government does not make every effort to defend our embassies, consulates and missions then they are not our friends. If they war with us we need to war with them.

The Taliban attacked a US base in Afghanistan today over the movie killing 2 U.S. soldiers and wounding several others.

Islamofascist rioters and murderers are only a handful. They don't represent the countries they live in. Just like occu-tards do not represent Americans, they are only a fringe.

They are the handful we need to utterly destroy. But the handful does not succeed without the tacit approval and support of a sizable portion of the population. We must be forceful. We must be resolute. We need an American man as our president.

I have more skin in this game than most. Yes, I would be willing to take my son's place who is in the Middle East right now. I suppose that's why I see how harmful this situation is and how angry I get at the radical Christians in this country who claim they have a right to freedom of speech. Yes, they have that right, but doing things to stir up a hornets nest in the Middle East only puts our people in more danger. I can not tell you how sleepless my nights are now that there is more unrest over there.
He is a volunteer. Just as I was.

What he needs is a commander-in-chief who is not a sissy. We need to wage our wars to win them. That would benefit your son far more than all of the limp-wristed hand wringing many in this country indulge in.

Really? Wow, someone with whom we are at war with attacked our military outpost. Such a surprise. Yep, that damned movie is to blame. (for those that don't get it, this would be called sarcasm.)

99.9% of Americans had no clue about this cheapass movie. Yet the Muslim world in general thinks this movies expresses the feelings of most Americans. In reality, most of us are pretty ambivalent and are more interested in checking the box scores. We can thank a lot of militant Imams for keeping Muslims constantly stirred up and ready for violence at the drop of a single piece of straw. These Muslims rioting think Americans are actively hating them. They don't know we hardly even think about them. These protests are the work of evil Imams. They are the ones to blame.

Have you not seen the photos?

Yes I seen the photos.I also seen photos of peaceful protesters Muslim protesters condemning the actions of these Islamofascists.

It's happening around the world.
No its happening in the middle eastern and other Muslim countries.

Why do you insist on downplaying this violence?

I am not downplaying the violence. The fact is the film came out in July and just now coincidentally around the anniversary of 9-11 these Islamofascists are acting as though they are offended as an excuse to perpetrate murder and other violence.

To refer to this violence as being perpetrated by a "handful" is detached from reality.

Again these Islamofascists are a fringe minority in those countries.

To claim these scum represent a significant portion of the population in those countries is detached from reality.

I would add that said C-in-C also had brains enough to pick good military advisors. Bush had the balls, but his brain trust was severely lacking in how to go about it. I would still prefer him over Obama, but I still say he needed to fire all Generals appointed under Clinton and replaced them with someone who actually knew the difference between their head and their ass. Generals appointed for Political lean and accommodation are never adequate as Military Commanders. Say, like ones that didn't hide in a bunker in Tampa and claim to be leading troops in Afghanistan.

As well they should, considering there wouldn't even be a Kuwait if we hadn't led a coalition to pull their bacon out of the fire.

I doubt the terrorists think of drone strikes as being an act of a sissy commander-in-chief. Yes, my son agreed to go to the middle east, but that doesn't mean people here in the US unwilling to fight for this country can sit fluel the flames and not hold some accountability for how that effects out troops in harms way.
As for waging war to win them, are you talking about the way Bush waged war? We didn't exactly win any grand prize for our efforts.

I do agree. I could never stand the political generals beginning with that darling of the left, Colin Powell.
