In essence, what I want, is to make the vast majority of Muslims not only FEEL responsible for, but BE responsible for their more extreme brothers.

To be fair, I want to do the same thing with Christianity, as well. When some religious nut jobs bomb an abortion clinic, I want the public outcry from the rest of the christian community to be so loud as to be deafening, denouncing the actions of those few, belittling them, calling into question their faith and their religion.

When you are a part of a team, you are a representative of that team. As such, you are responsible for the other members, or representatives, as well...and if you had even the tiniest CARE about that team, you'd take it upon yourself to ensure that everyone puts their best foot forward.

When some Marine takes a piss on a dead body, does the public outcry demand justice upon JUST that one Marine, or does not the entire Corp get tarnished by the actions of the individual?

Think about that.

What I find interesting in all of this is that when the "God Hates Fags" morons picket a funeral or some other idiotic action (which falls FAR short of the sort of mayhem Islamists indulge in routinely), there is nothing but condemnation for them across the board. It is extremely rare that any posters indulge in an apologetic defense. When Islamists go on their rampages, though, the defense is immediate and aggressive by those of a certain politically correct mindset. Islamism is a sacred cow to these posters as they are absolutely intolerant of anything that criticizes Islam no matter WHAT an Islamist does.

Considering your use of "we", here, one can only assume you are referring to Islamists.

Who most obviously DO NOT promote mutual respect. They only demand that everybody bow to them such as you are doing here by demanding they are above criticism.

That is exactly what the Ambassador Christopher Stevens did and he was murdered for his kindness and respect. Clearly these murderous creatures did not attend Sunday school.
