From what I've read it was Al Qaeda behind both protests. Which makes sense since the protests started on September 11 and one of their top leaders was assassinted by a drone last June....
Military style attack.....they pulled up in pick up trucks and started attacking the embassies with rocket launchers. It's like they planned it."...The attack in Libya that also killed three other U.S. personnel bore the hallmarks of al-Qaeda and may have been carried out to mark the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S., said Representative Mike Rogers, chairman of the House intelligence committee.
The “military-style attack” on the consulate was “a planned, targeted event,” Rogers, a Michigan Republican, told reporters yesterday. Those who staged the “well-planned, well- coordinated” attack probably picked the timing of Sept. 11 “for a reason,” he said. “You can’t have this many coincidences on the same day.”....
Officials Probing Whether al-Qaeda Planned Libya Attack - Businessweek
What a coincidence, thats how a lot of Americans form their opinions. too. lol So I really don't think the film was the real motive for the protests in asmuch as it was used as propaganda by extremists and/or Al Qaeda to inflame the population into hating the US and sympathizing with the protestors. But it could have been anything from a Koran burning to another cartoon because they were planning to attack anyway."....While some protesters say they have not seen any of the online film, they were incensed by reports of its depiction of the Prophet Mohammed..."

You know what... This crap needs to stop.
It doesn't matter who made the damned film, because it is in no way responsible, not even a little bit, for the barbaric actions that took place in Libya or Egypt. Certain folks, along with members of our fair and impartial news media, are making this into a big deal because the truth surrounding this issue is something they just can't deal with, or simply refuse to deal with.... ENOUGH ALREADY.
Radical Islam and the people who embrace it are completely, totally and fully responsible 100%, for the violence that took place over there... Not 98%, not 99%, but 100%... Come on, say it with me... Radical Islam and the people who embrace it are 100% responsible for the violence that took place over there.
Lather, rinse and repeat.
"Anger is admitting the lack of a strong argument"
We are "informed" that radical Islam (whatever that might be in any given instance) is co-ordinating actions all over the ME. The "Islamic Radical" Muslim Brotherhood is reportedly managing the Egyptian Friday prayer protests at this very moment by organising them outside Mosques. That keeps the protests small and dispersed and controllable so they peter out sooner, with less damage all around.
I love the smell of face-palm in the morning!
"You ain't no Muslim bruv!"
in my opinion ,people should have a little responsibilty and Sensibility about what is happening in teh middle east and avoid tempting the others who are supposed to act like this..

Yet, you don't see the continent of Africa, or any country therein, rioting, protesting, and burning embassies, etc, when a black person is defiled by that word, or any other of the highly offensive things they, as a culture, have endured for many many years. Nor do you see China going to war over it, either. I promise you, it's just as insulting to them, as profaning Mohamed is to Islamists. Grow some skin, I say. It's the only way we're all gonna live on this dirt ball. Take it in stride.
And you know what? The only way those people are going to learn to do that is with PRACTICE.
