Firstly, its spelled ally, not "allie." I can understand the occasional spelling mistake but that was just too much.

    Anyway a few key points:
    1) Egypt went through a democratic process to elect its new government, its revolution was not like that of Iran. AND the man they elected is not radical, fundamental, Islamist. Egypt is still a US ally for now.
    2) Egyptians did not storm the US embassy in Cairo, they jumped over the wall and took down the American flag but now seem to be contained by riot police, they did not enter the actual embassy building nor have any hostages been taken, and the government(ie riot police) is working with us not against us.
    3) Egypt has promised to uphold the peace treaty with Israel and has actually worked with Israel somewhat in dealing with insurgents in the Sinai Peninsula
BBC News - Army in Egypt reports 32 deaths in Sinai crackdown

    See the difference? :/

We'll see how this all plays out in the coming years, but my gut tells me that the new government will not respect Israel's right to exist, will give aid and/or support to terrorist organizations and will not be friends with the US very much longer. Those people who stormed the US Embassy are a reflection of the Muslim Brotherhood and I believe just gave us a preview of the things to come.

    Buckle up everyone.

They definately will not keep the salafis in check. Plus they never have been able to keep the Bedouin in check. Who don't care who as they dont play sides.

interesting - one minute you call the same people terrorists then they are freedom fighters

    make up your mind

Why is the USA hated so much all around the world?

Why is the US flag the most burnt and desecrated symbol on the planet?

    any ideas?

Indications so far have been leaning towards Salafi movements as being the people causing the protests and violence in Egypt and Libya. Salafi is different from the Muslim Brotherhood, it is a much more fundamentalist view on Islam and the world and has a recent history of violence although its difficult to blame the whole movement for the actions of some because of its nature, its a philosophy on Islam and life but not a centralized international movement like the Muslim Brotherhood was.

The Salafist movement is a significant factor in Egyptian politics, however it is far from a majority. I wish I could point to how their candidate fared in the elections but he was disqualified because apparently his mother was US citizen, how embarrass for him I suppose.
