This guy is such a good actor that I just realized he played "Col. Atta" in Planet of the Apes. I can't even think of somebody else being able to personify that particular character.
I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality. - MLK

    Oh yeah - CLINT EASTWOOD.
You just lack personal control don't you? Duncan was a good actor, and I liked him.

You do realize there are jobs behind the camera as well, don't you?

Does a person still exist if they are off camera?????

It was a very complex and dynamic film, played well by everyone in it.
And it was set in a time where everything that happened was accurate. You can't change history just because you don't like it

Yep, sometimes people have to realize that accuracy isn't always politically correct. We may not like, but it was the past.

    Million Dollar Baby?

    Gran Torrino?

I mean, Million Dollar Baby was, bar none, one of the best boxing movies I have ever seen. And I've seen me lots of boxing movies, bub.

    As for Duncan?

    Man was a beast.

Sin City, it's like the part was drawn with him in mind.

    Green Mile.

    Planet of the Apes.

Hell, I'll even toss in Armageddon, just for ****s and giggles.

No one mentioned Armageddon, but MCD was actually personally recommended for the John Coffey role by Bruce Willis because of his part in Armageddon. That is according to the Internet Movie Database.

Green Mile was by far his best work. The funniest scene in Arm. was when he was being interviewed by the psychiatrist and asked if he could have a hug when they were done.

    He will be missed.

yeah, it was a pretty awesome performance.

i've been a big SK fan since i was a teenager, and i bought the green mile in pieces when it was first released a few chapters at a time. i was excited when i found out that it was going to become a movie, but i was also fairly worried. some SK books become great movies, like Shawshank or Stand by Me. others completely miss the feel of the book. luckily, the Green Mile was written, cast, and produced perfectly. much of that depended on Coffey; Duncan really brought him to life.
