Indeed . . .and part of the whole point of the story was to break against racial stereotypes. And he played the part exceptionally well. The plot would have had much less impact if he was white, honestly - because the racial-issues is a large part of the whole sory.

He was perfect for the role - no other actor could have pulled it off. He just had *it* within his own nature.

    Oh yeah - CLINT EASTWOOD.

I thought his little bit at the RNC was stupid.

That said, you couldn't be more wrong about him being in a good movie.

Million Dollar Baby (05) won best picture and Gran Torino (08) was also an awesome flick.

Such a great movie... I never fail to tear up during certain poignant scenes. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was much too young.

You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. ‘Is everybody OK?’ And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.”

He seemed like a really nice guy. Shame.

Yeah, it was incredibly well done. Very emotionally stirring from beginning to end.

You know what would have killed that move? If they had casted someone like Sylvester Stallone in the role of John Coffee.

You are right nobody else could have done it right.

    RIP beautiful big man.

I'll never forget the Green Mile. I was 12 years old and though i knew better than my parents when they told me i wasn't allowed to watch it. I did anyway and it affected me deeply for a long time. Just another example of why parents do usually know best and kids are silly when they don't listen to them.
