Furthermore, there is probably a salary cap for his kids. Merely because your foundation has lots of money doesn't mean you get paid exorbitant amounts.
I agree it doesn't necessary mean that. But it doesn't necessarily mean that one doesn't. It also means that one can wield millions and millions of dollars (read power) to get wonderful jobs . . . sit on a myriad of boards. His children will certainly never have to work a day in their lives. Still, I'm most positive they will.

I hope none of them decide to run for office. They'll rip them to shreds.

Perhaps you need to stop posting about ME and go back and actually read what I and other wrote?

You want to attack Buffet for his manipulation of the tax code. Be my guest. Go for it. You have my blessing and it is your right as a citizen.

You want to attack Romney for his manipulation of the tax code. Be my guest. Go for it. You have my blessing and it is your right as a citizen.

But do NOT attack Buffet here and get all high horse about it and then defend Romney in other threads when he does much the same thing.

that is hypocritical and based solely on your own personal political bias. Its my allies = good..... my enemies = bad even though all are doing the same thing.

The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

Numbered Swiss accounts are illegal when they are used by US citizens to hide income from the IRS.

Its not in the end really any different. I think they are not aggressive enough in manipulating the tax code. I firmly believe in paying EXCACTLY what is owed and not ONE penny more. I also believe if there is a gray area, take everything and leave nothing for the sick bastards at the IRS. You are correct in that analiysis that they both are manipulating the tax code for their benifit, as they well should. However the primary difference between the two is one is not advocating for higher taxes the other is. One of my primary beefs with Buffet is the bastard wants higher taxes on the "rich" AFTER he made his. This impeads my accumulation of wealth directly and pisses me off to to no end. I do not take well to bastards trying to **** me over. Romney in my opinion is just another suit, that is better marginaly than the the current suit. Buffett on the other hand is a grade A bastard, with no redeeming virtues I can see. Of course there is a bias on my part because of some "inside baseball" I am personally familiar with. I hope understand that I dont support Romney because he's my man, far from it. I just find the alternative worse. If Romney did the same thing Buffett did I be all over him even faster. Believe me when I say this Romney WILL be on a VERY short leash. If you look at this board you can tell that, his support is marginal, there is no love for him. He is NOT my guy he is just the best of the bad apples so to speak.

Where is your proof that he is hiding income? Are you just assuming that part?

If he makes his money and pays his income tax, he can put it anywhere he likes. What does that have to do with you?

This sounds like the argument the democrats give when a republican is caught doing something nasty.

They say that Republicans are out there with the family values speech so it is bad when a republican gets caught, but simply because the democrats are not out there screaming family values, they get a pass.

found this interesting. Warren buffett of the buffett rule just passed along $3 billion to his kids through trusts he set up. Now this person who wants folks like himself to pay at least 30% of their income in taxes never paid a penny of taxes on this money. Now that the money is in trust, his kids will be able to live off the money while running their charities and avoided the inheritance tax.

I find it interesting that someone who have gotten filthy rich by avoiding taxes for decades, both personally and at his company wants others to pay more.

Just seems like another amoral person eager to spend other people's money.
according to the article the money is going to the charities, not to his sons personally. Is his money in swiss bank accounts or in the caymen islands? He pays the same taxes as an other millionaire in this country. About 14%, just like romney.

I don't think people should get a pass for bad behavior, but if a "family values" Republican gets caught in a hotel room with a hooker and six pounds of blow versus a Democrat who never took the family values position the Republican would be in the worst position. If Democrats made the argument that the "family values" Republican in that case were a hypocrite they would be absolutely correct.
Neither side in an argument can find the truth when both make an absolute claim on it.

That is true but it would still come off as a pass for the democrat doing the same nasty thing when it is something most people would not do.
