Yep, that is why they rejected the help and aide to build the type of reactor that couldn't be used to get bomb materials.

No, they don't want the bomb, only electricity. And if you believe that, I have a nice used bridge in Brooklyn I will let you have, cheap.

Israel has been making these doomsday claims about Iran for what, the past 30 years? the only reason Israel is fussy is because this would set a precedent for other middle eastern countries getting them jeopardizing its military superiority. Countries Like Saudi.

What a crock.....Obama has helped the U.N. impose the most effective sanctions ever placed on Iran. I don't blame him at all for wanting Israel to let them work. The Israeli's cannot even penetrate Iran's Bunker labs without our help so your story is fictitious.

    Big difference
No. The big difference in your post is that we are not dealing with a nuclear arsenal at all with Iran. It's a figment of propagandistic imagination spread from your media sources and the various influences on them. They have half of you believing that Ahmadinejad is sitting with his thumb on the trigger already.

People should be using completely different barometers when comparing the Iranian situation to the Cold War, we love to forget history almost as much as we love to forget facts...

Effectively pressure Iran? Here's a brief laundry list of rather extreme sanctions levied against Iran by the US and the International community at large. http://www.cfr.org/iran/lengthening-...nctions/p20258

It seems as if any action short of a full scale bombing run on Israel's behalf would be insufficient in Netanyahu's estimation.

Your link doesn't seem to address the long list of waivers that Obama has granted to, seemingly, any country that wants to do business with the Iranian government or its proxies.

Yes, waivers have indeed been granted, in no small part due to the reduced consumption on the behalf of the countries in question, some exceptions are also made to ensure that interruptions in supply and the subsequent spikes in prices don't undermine economic activity in south east asia primarily. Imposing sanctions on countries and valued allies such as South Korea and Singapore who rely largely on Iranian oil at this stage would be something to avoid at this stage from a diplomatic and economic standpoint, and from all indications the countries in question are actively pursuing trade agreements with other willing participants in the short term in order to alleviate such a conflict.

China, Japan, India and South Korea have already cut their imports by about a fifth from the 1.45 million barrels per day they were buying a year ago as they prepare for the U.S. sanctions to come into effect.
More U.S. waivers to Iran sanctions likely next week | Reuters
