HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Republican candidate for Senate in Pennsylvania on Monday compared the decision to abort an unwanted pregnancy resulting from premarital sex to one conceived through rape as he defended his opposition to abortion in all cases.

Just when you thought Todd Akin was going away, it all comes back, as yet another nut demands that women must bear their rapist's child, and compares pregnancy through rape to pregnancy from an out of wedlock relationship.

OK, let me compare intelligences. When a bag of hammers engages in premarital sex with a box of rocks, you end up people like this. But what if the bag of hammers raped the box of rocks? OK, now I understand. There is no difference in the outcome.

I don't see this as being any different than those Muslim men who blame their wives for getting raped. As if the woman was given a choice in the matter.

The most frightening part about this is that Akin is not only not alone, a large chunk of the republican party believes exactly the same thing. That's chilling.
