We can sit here and argue till we are blue in the face but the fact is he has a 21 year sentence and according to most legal experts will have that extended.
Once he serves the minimum they will deem him safe to be released and no one in Norway will care except for the victims and Norway as a whole won't give a rats ass about the victims especially 10-21 years from now when the victims are long forgotten. Scumbag sympathizers here in the US don't give a rats ass about the victims, what makes you think they would in Norway. They utter stupid **** like "justice shouldn't be about revenge", and "justice shouldn't be about punishment"," keeping him in prison forever won't bring the victims back". You're telling me a country that thinks like that is going to keep Breivik in prison for the rest of his life?

Harsh punishment for murdering 77 people is 10-21 years in prison? Then harsh punishment for murdering one is what - three months probation?

All this guy did was stab his brother to death. However, it was OK because he was having a 'psychotic episode'. Of course this is Denmark, another one of those progressive legal systems. Less than a year in prison.

This is why I laugh when someone says he will never get out. They don't give two ****s about the victims and their justice system is set up to not give two ****s about the victim, just look at their prisons.

Prisons like these are a kick in the crotch to victims and their loved ones.

I think these constant calls for harsher punishment and torture says a lot about those who advance them.

When it comes to the death penalty, it's pretty simple: Either you like the thought of killing people, then you support it. Or you hate the thought of killing people, then you are against it.

Leave revenge-based, sadistic punishment fantasies of "eye for an eye" to the legal system in Iran.

It is the highest possible punishment in Norway, so yes, it is harsh.

And can you even imagine how it is to spend two decades in prison? I don't think it's a cakewalk.

It sure as hell beats being dead though, doesn't it? If you could ask the 77 people this animal butchered, I wonder what they'd choose.

And no, it is not harsh. It isn't even close to being harsh. I'm sure Norwegian prisons are real 'hellholes', given the draconian sentence this guy got. (Note, this last sentence is sarcasm. I need to explain that for you folks who actually think that way).

So two wrongs make a right?

Breivik murdered in cold blood because of hatred. Do you seriously suggest we should lower ourselves to the same level and do it as well?

That's pretty ignorant. I guess if you support any sort of incarceration you enjoy depriving people of their liberties and caging them like animals.
