When I saw the title I figured the cop must have beat her pretty badly. However after viewing the tape, I thought it was pretty mild compared to other police beatings I've seen. To be honest I am pretty surprised he was fired..considering the circumstance and the leniency most cops get for brutality.

Pensacola Officer Chrisopher Geraci Fired, Charged With Battery After Slamming Abbi Bonds During Arrest | Video | TheBlaze.com

police officer in Pensacola, Florida has been fired and charged with battery after video emerged of him slamming a 29-year-old woman into the side her car while responding to a nearby hit and run call, according to reports.]

There's a lot of inconsistency with how the police are policed. In many instances crimes that should land them in jail and fired won't, and other times when a suspension or other punishment not including firing is warranted they end up being fired. There has to be a better way to police the police so that we properly punish them for their abuses of power.

Some of these guys get away with outright murder but that doesn't mean we should give a pass to mere assault.

I had to watch it a couple of times because it looked like the slam against the car was disproportionate to the pull/shove he gave her...but he must have caught her off-balance "just right," because it doesn't look like she faked it.

She could have been seriously injured. I imagine he may have violated procedure in not immediately cuffing her when he came back to the car.

I'm glad I didn't have to make the call to fire him over this. (He may have had other stuff in his file, too.) I didn't vote.
