Definitely a Method Poster (similar to Method Actor).

He's too consistent to be an ACTUAL nutjob. No...this is like Sean Penn staying in character all day between takes on the set of Fast Times At Ridgemont High.

Much like Stephen Colbert...he does a better job at being what he satires than the targets of his satire do. (Colbert is better at being O'Reilly than O'Reilly).
I've moved on to a better forum (scienceforums.net). Facts matter, and I don't have the time or energy for putting up with the pretense that they don't. PM me if you'd like me to get in touch with you when I'm done developing my own forum system, likely towards the end of 2013.

If you think I'm making some ironic commentary in support of the disobedient child you couldn't be more mistaken. I don't think you've read my posts very carefully. You're right, I am too consistent to be nuts. I know exactly what I am saying. This disobedient child broke the rules and refused to apologize, and here we have adults everywhere coming out of the woodwork to defend the bad behavior, as though she should get a pass for braking he rules withot so much as an apology? What the hell kind of lesson is that for children?

There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

I like vampire books and True Blood on HBO is one of my favourite shows but Twilight - eh.
I was a senior in high school when that first got big, I tired to get into it since a lot of my friends liked it, but my good tastes got in the way.

I'd say the young lady is doing just fine in that regard. I do like JTs letter though it seemed rather appropriate.

A little defiance now and again keeps the jackasses of the world honest. They should never really know if your going to remove their head. They should be kept nervous of that possibilty. It makes dealing with them infinately easier. After all they like their heads. A little fear goes a long ways.

The jackass in this situation is the disobedient child who refused to apologize for bad behavior. So to that extent, I agree with you, the right thing to do is withhold the diploma until an apology is made. A little fear goes a long way.

One, she's 18, not a child. Two, why on earth would anyone take the side of anyone other than the young woman in question?

Besides, it doesn't matter anyway. The diploma is just a piece of paper, it's worthless. My high school withheld mine and it didn't hurt me any.

Just read another article on the story. Particularly this quote.

Nootbaar said the diploma was on the principal's desk.

"He said right here's your diploma and you're not going to get it," and then told her she would have to write a letter of apology, Nootbar said.
I'd have just grabbed it and walked out.
