Don't forget they took our money and built a factory in.... Finland!

Way to get those manufacturing jobs back in the US!

They did not build a factory in Finland. Fisker contracted out the assembly of the Karma to Valmet, this was done BEFORE the US government gave out the loan.

You think the president personally oversees all of these loans?

Harry Truman had a sign on his desk that said, "The buck stops here". The WH staff DOES see all of this stuff and makes decisions accordingly. Don't try to use this tripe about the Kenyan not knowing or not overseeing. Remember where the buck stops.

Let's recall that the point of this thread is to point out that 2400 cars are being recalled to replace a cooling fan. But will this earth shattering news be covered by the lamestream media? Nooooooo!

"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

I really hope they don't get their additional funding, for a number of personal and political reasons.
delorean made awesome cars, but i wont argue on them being too expensive.delorean made the early supercars that were used as a base design for many cars in the 80's.what killed them was the fact they cost 25k in the late seventies, back when a new car was around 5k or less.

kinda odd though these new electric cars share the same outrageous cost to benefit ratio.

Here's a list of the most expensive cars in the world. Not one of them is electric. The Fisker costs less than one sixth of the cheapest one. And the companies that make these incredibly expensive cars aren't going under. Price is not a problem.

What the heck good does it do to invest in a company that makes a car no one can afford?

Seems like it got $260M from the government; now it's looking for another $150M to stay afloat. Wanna' bet it's on the chopping block right after the election? Or will we give them the other half of the money that was set aside for them that's now on hold?

Technology gets streamlined and perfected through application and use. TV's used to be expensive. Telephone's used to be expensive. Microwave's used to be expensive. It's a new technology. Let it grow.

Well, that and the CEO being accused of helping smuggle cocaine into the US probably didn't help either...
