Whoops. You are correct. Huh. For some reason, I thought the Delorean got the windsor, too.

Did the SV1 get the V8, maybe?

Yup, that's why I got it confused. The Bricklin SV1 was issued with a Ford Windsor. And I guess I just assumed, since the Delorian is based, design wise, on the SV1.

I have always like the Delorean, but never could afford one. There are several pages available through google that show V8 swaps, looks like the engine bay can hold a small block, but not sure how much cutting has to be done. There are even electric powered ones. I think adapting electrical and electronics would be the bigger challenge than the actual physical engine swap.

Screw that. Porsche motor. I'm sure that could work.

To me, that's the only thing interesting about these cars...rear engine, rwd.

But then, so is a bug, and they weight less. Don't look as cool, though, and no gull wing doors.

But I'll wager by about the 19th time you go to get in or out of that car, those gull wings would start to get real old, along with your knees/back, lol.

The 5.0L and 5.4L engines might be nice in them, but lets face it, there is nothing that really costs less to build than a SBC. A LT-5 from a C4 ZR-1 would be a great engine for it also if you are not worried about costs. The C4 body style sucked anyways, so it's not like you are taking it from a "cool" car, just the really cool engine.

The government should give this guy at least $50,000,000.00 to develop this car:

and another $50M to develop the family car size:
