Secret Service bought cupcakes to thank baker for turning down Biden

Well there are questions as to whether or not the story is even true.

Deny, Deny, Deny is the Liberal mantra so why should "questions" be a surprise? Unfortunately for the Libs, the SS said, in essence, that their people didn't participate. Pure and simple ... the event happened as reported.

As a general rule of thumb, stories centered around the sale of cupcakes, pastries and other assorted baked goods aren't worthy of their own thread on a political forum.

Even though the SS caught some fire for their recent prositution fracas in South America for the most part I believe they are a group of people who are the best of the best.

This story just doesn't sound right. There is just something that doesn't add up.

There was a book a few years back by a retired SS agent and it did have some interesting comments about presidents and their families. If memory serves me right, Jerry Ford was a tightwad who would leave a restaurant table and expect the agent to pay for it, Jimmy Carter would carry his own suitcase for a trip but once out of the cameras would drop it for an agent to carry it, and I belive Barbara Bush was very well liked and treated the SS agents very admirable.

I'm suddenly really intrigued. I've never really thought about how the relationship works between secret service agents and the president. I wonder how much insight can be gained just by analyzing how a president treats his secret service?

Regardless, something about this story seems overwhelmingly petty. They aren't a bunch of high school girls. I don't really buy it.
