Texas A&M University reports
on its website that an "active shooter" is in custody in the area of the school. At least two people apparently have been injured, according to local media.
The university, located in College Station, Texas, about 90 miles northwest of Houston, initially reported the shooter at 1:29 p.m. ET, and reported 15 minutes later that he was in custody. The university immediately issued a Code Maroon on its emergency website
, instructing students and school personnel to avoid the area.
