I'm going to stand by my orginal assumption that this cat is ****ed in the head. That's a safe assumption, I believe.

Really.

Quite the thoughtful analysis.

Can you possibly draw us up a PowerPoint presentation to explain the complex details of your theory?

Another crazy out shooting people! First, the theater, then the Sikh temple, now this. What's next?

You stand around in town long enough and be innocent and somebody is going to shoot you ...:(

Where there are guns people are going to get shot....it is as plain as that.

This is not about gun control, it is about self control.

I think it's being more focused upon due to election season. It's not like a country as large as the US has any shortage of homocide.:(

Uhhh i know a lot of people who have been standing around town for a really long time and they havent been shot at....

Source? Haven't seen that in any articles I've read.

Shepard Smith reported it on FNC, just a couple minutes before I wrote that post. You heard it from Fox, first.

you also could be mauled fatally by a tiger escaped from a zoo. The chief of trenton's (NJ) police department said that was a more likely fate for his cops than being slain with an "assault weapon"

ANOTHER shooting spree?? :(

Turtle. Dude. You've been on my ignore list for a few weeks now. ;)

Oh, and inb4 "if the victims had only had guns, they wouldn't have died."

Well, that wouldn't make any sense. I think you need to catch up on this story and who the shooter's first victim was.

Doesn't mean it won't happen. Sadly, with this being the third national shooting tragedy within a month, we've gotten well versed in these arguments.

giving the aurora nutcase so much publicity might have caused others to want attention

The shooter was being served with an eviction notice. He shot the officer as he was approaching his house. If I understand it correctly, 3 people (including the shooter) were killed; 3 other LEO's and a 55-year-old woman injured.

Beware the man who has nothing to lose.

Yes. The other man shot was just walking down the street. The mom who was shot was helping her college-kid student move, and she has lung damage and is not "out of the woods."

The vet/medic who performed CPR on the constable and also the shooter said that in his dying moments, the shooter begged for forgiveness.

There is nothing new, copycat or attention getting behind the motivation for this type of behavior. Just plain old everyday nut jobs... "In the eyes of the world, these rampages define America no less than baseball, computers or apple pie. Just as Israeli generations are classified by the country’s wars, Americans can be categorized by the crazy shooting sprees that they recall, from the day Charles Whitman shot 16 people to death from the observation tower at the University of Texas on August 1, 1966, through the 1984 murder of 21 people in a California McDonald’s, the 1991 massacre of 23 at Luby’s Cafeteria in Texas, the infamous 1999 Columbine High School killing of 13, the 2007 Virginia Tech slaughter of 32 and now the murder of 12 moviegoers in Aurora, just 19 miles away from the site of the Columbine shootings..."
Mass, random shooting sprees are as American as baseball and apple pie.........Israel News - Haaretz Israeli News source.

Just FYI, Charles Whitman had a brain tumor, and today's shooter also had mental issues.

My point was that the first victim was an armed officer.
