At the risk of a tsk-tsk from the mods....

I know lots of people of a certain political and social persuasion who exclusively go to Starbucks for the image, not the coffee. The faux-urban hipster feel is attractive to these certain individuals.

    Aaaaaaand?

Hey...I'm a capitalist. I think they should hold a pro gay marriage rally at their local car dealership. Buy a new house in support of SSM. Protest ChickFilA-buy a minimum of $1000 merchandise at your local mall and get a free rainbow sticker to show how much you care. And of course...the opposition side...they are going to rise up in protest to the protest...and buy more ChickFilA...but they too should buy things in opposition to gay marriage. We can protest our way into prosperity.

    What were we protesting again?

Hopefully...for Starbucks bottom line there will at least be a few people that participate in this 'protest'. The kiss in thing was kinda a bust.

I dont think it has ever been proposed. I have never voted on it if it has. But ask around to straight people. Ask them if they care if their marriage is called a union at a federal level.

He didnt say that the majority supports same sex marriage. The number of states that pass changes to their state constitutions kinda proves that. What he said was the majority of people that support same sex marriage are straight. And that HAS to be kind of a given...right?

I wrote in to my congressmen and senator about this several years ago. I have asked around, and many people I know don't want civil unions.

No, what he said is the majority support the state getting out of marriage.

No it's not. I'm not exactly defending Starbucks, but it is far from the worst coffee in existence. I've had the worst coffee in existence at a Physics conference once, and I spent the week at Starbucks because of it. Starbucks is not ground shattering, it's not the best out there, but it's not on the bottom either.

I would say that the facts do not support that assertion.
