The mosque should put 13 crosses on its front lawn, just to **** with them.
Wow, what an incredibly ****ing dick thing to say. Muslim Americans aren't entitled to the same freedom to build houses of worship the same way churches are?
Literally "your kind aint welcome around here."
No. These people don't think the 1st amendment applies to anyone but themselves.
I am pretty disgusted by all the men getting their ******s over churches displaying crosses on their lawn.Something with a lot of churches do.I guess there must not be that many churches in Colorado Springs.
I did comment on them a few posts back. This thread isn't about them.
It's about the garbage people pretending to be Christian. Do you have a comment on them?
So what
"your kind aint welcome here" isn't protected by the 1st amendment?
colorado springs is one of the most christian influenced places i have ever been. We have churches and mega churches here. The problem is not thta they put up crosses, the problem is the message they are attempting to send and the intent of the these specific crosses. Dont play dumb. This isnt just about a church putting up a cross.
What's next?
I believe next comes the story where someone at the Christian church has too much to drink and decides to throw a brink throw the window of the Mosque or paint something nasty on the side of the building.
The point is, we have to stop these 'Christian' behaving badly by calling them out.
Read my signature.
This non-story is about Christians displaying crosses on church property.Something that happens with churches all over the country. If these people were vandalizing the mosque then you would have a point,if these people were standing on church property mooning everybody across the street going to the mosque you would have a point. If these church members were pelting the muslims with crosses and little bibles as they walked into the mosque you would have a point.
A left winger with a religious verse in his signature. Thats funny.
I am pretty disgusted by this and the people pretending these are just crosses. It is clear these people are trying to use the church to abuse people. This is not right. This isnt just putting up crosses on their property they are trying to use what should be a religious icon representing peace, love and togetherness not this.

is there some rule that says a liberal cant have faith in a religion.
What message is that? That their faith is the best?
Most liberals tend to view religion no different than a harry potter book and that religion is something you should separate from your professional and political life.
What message is that? That their faith is the best? I am sure the Muslims feel they same way about their religion.
Exactly. Seems most of the people here being purposefully obtuse have a dog in this fight. Like they wouldn't be 100% Christian if they had an ounce of objectivity and said, yeah, they are probably being a bit aggressive with their symbolism.
That is true for some liberals, but not for many others. There is actually a large number of Christian liberals who view government as a vehicle for fulfilling the biblical commands to love thy neighbor and to be your brothers keeper. The welfare state, for them, is faith based and therefore moral. For them, the separation of church and state is mere rhetoric. Most liberals tend to view religion no different than a harry potter book and that religion is something you should separate from your professional and political life.
Just because it isn't outwardly violent doesn't mean it isn't meant to be intimidating.
It's clearly meant to show Muslims that this is a Christian area and that they better realize that they are a minority here.
are you just messing with me? i really cant tell if you are trying to be funny or if you are really this blind.
Do you have any evidence of this are you just speculating?
Then show me the quote in the article that exactly states their intentions behind putting up the 13 crosses.
well if you are incapable of simple interpretation there is little I can do to help you.

FFS, james. How many times do I have to post this?
"It was more or less to make a statement to the Muslims about how we felt about our religion, our Christianity...we wanted them to see the crosses and know how we felt about things.”
It's a message to "the muslims". Not just passersby. A specific group. Letting them know how the church feels about "things'. The "things" being the fact that the proposed mosque has been terrorized and has had unjust lawsuits brought against it in an attempt to halt the construction.
This idiotic, backwater inbred hick town doesn't think freedom of religion is in effect there and they don't want the mosque in their town. The church is just helping illustrate that. To the muslims. Directly.
