Murfreesboro church's crosses offer message to Muslims

Oh, and where do you come up with the claim that you're being accused of wanting to ban the crosses? Where did I say that? What I said was, "I'm offended by the notion that a church ought not place crosses on its property to avoid offending either me or passing Muslims."

Again. Point out where anyone said that. All we've been doing is calling them douchebags who know what plausible deniability means.

They can do whatever they want. And the rest of us can call out their BS and shun them for being quite un-Christian.

Oh those poor, poor muslims. Perhaps you might tell me where this particular outrage ranks among the great clashes in religious history. They have to drive by crosses. Oh the horror.

Given the outrage the New York Mosque situation created, I find all the religious squabbling to be humorous.

When did promoting Christianity by displaying a cross become un-Christian?

Ummm..... calling them "douchebags" isn't your way of saying that "they ought not do it"???

Well, people aren't dumb. They know they can hide their intentions behind freedom of religion and no one can say boo.

But I'm not putting it past this church to make it a backhanded display of implied Christian superiority.

Christianity is superior

**** these losers.

Whaaaat? People can't put crosses on their lawns?

I'm sure they have a cross on their steeple. That promotes Christianity. I could care less about that.

They voted to put a number crosses facing the road that goes to the new mosque, the new mosque that has been the victim of terrorizing behavior and undue lawsuits. The guy said the crosses are there to "more or less to make a statement to the Muslims about how we felt about our religion, our Christianity...we wanted them to see the crosses and know how we felt about things.”

I mean, honestly, what else would that mean. It's clearly a Christian church, the people who go there are clearly faithful Christians. Are a dozen crosses just underlining the point?

Lol, you're funny.

Since you arrived fashionably late to the discussion, why don't you tootle on back to post #19 and catch yourself up to speed before you embarrass yourself any more.

And then they expect us to let them build a mosque in New York City.

Clearly they are attempting to say something about their faith in a very normal and harmless manner. Now, if they had muslims hanging in effigy from those crosses I would agree that there is a problem there. But the cross is the symbol of Christianity, posting it along the way to a Mosque seems to me to be like hanging Steeler banners near the exit to Cleveland Browns stadium. To me these crosses symbolize the evolution of a violent history to a friendly rivalry.

I doubt that very much. But as always, you're entitled to your opinion.

Wow, what an incredibly ****ing dick thing to say. Muslim Americans aren't entitled to the same freedom to build houses of worship the same way churches are?

Eventually they won't be "entitled to the same freedom." You guys should have quit pushing a long time ago.

This is the net result of Bachmann-type ignorance. People get their heads filled with false ideas about Islam and Muslims and then they engage in this type of dickishness--making people feel unwelcome etc.

Freedom of Religion applies to all faiths.

A church put crosses on church property? Say it ain't so_Oh the horror. What next a minaret on top of a mosque?

I am pretty disgusted by this and the people pretending these are just crosses. It is clear these people are trying to use the church to abuse people. This is not right. This isnt just putting up crosses on their property they are trying to use what should be a religious icon representing peace, love and togetherness not this.

What happens next is that the Mosque puts up a bunch of crescent moons on their lawn.

And then the Church raises their cross higher.

Then the Mosque raises their minaret higher.

Then the Church raises their cross higher.

Then the Mosque raises their minaret higher, and adds blinking lights to their moons.

Then the Church adds blinking lights to their crosses.

Then the Muslims in the community gain a majority and pass a law saying no church can be built higher than a mosque.

Kinda like underlining it 12 times. Just a tad obsessive.

This thread isn't about them.

It's about the garbage people pretending to be Christian. Do you have a comment on them?

I am pretty disgusted by all the men getting their ******s over churches displaying crosses on their lawn.Something with a lot of churches do.I guess there must not be that many churches in Colorado Springs.

What's next?

I believe next comes the story where someone at the Christian church has too much to drink and decides to throw a brink throw the window of the Mosque or paint something nasty on the side of the building.

The point is, we have to stop these 'Christian' behaving badly by calling them out.
