Jobless rate rises to 8.3 percent, hiring picks up but still falling short

So a 3.8 trillion dollar govt is what you want? I am still waiting for you or anyone else to explain to me how raising taxes on the top 2% benefits the economy and creates more economic growth? The lack of an answer is quite telling.
By raising taxes, many of those public sector jobs (teachers, police, firemen, etc) that were present during the Bush administration and lost their jobs in the recession could be rehired. The present 8.3% unemployment rate would probably be under the 8% if those jobs still existed.

Seriously take some time and review the numbers between now and this time last year.

I don't understand what that has to do with what your evidence is that Gallup's numbers are more accurate then the governments?

this is an entire devoted to twisting information. I have shown you repeated numbers showing that since 2010 our economy has been getting better. You are twisting numbers and showing partial data to mislead people.

And for lies, you have called me an Obama supporter, a typical obama supporter and a liberal. Those are lies.

So there is my factual data and it is far from an attack. Just calling it what it is.

You gave Gallup Numbers, BEA.gov, BLS.gov, and the Treasury give different data and are actual numbers. You do realize that Gallup is a polling service? Treasury is the bank account of the U.S.?

Is this the Harry Reid approach ? Show what number was "made up". Do you have such little grasp of issues that your only retort to facts you do not like is to claim it was "made up" ? Do you even know what the national debt is ?

Show what was "made up" or shut up.

I have asked you at least 5 times now to support this statement that you made. I have asked and asked and asked and you just keep deflecting.

A number not included above is that the public debt per household is increasing at a rate of about $13,000. per year under Obama

It isn't the Federal Government's responsibility to pay for teachers, police, and fire. Where did you get your education?

Employment has gone up. Not enough jobs are being created. I don't see any change coming down the pike to these facts.

You realize that bea.gov and bls.gov and any other govt site you want to quote show consistent economic improvements from 2010 thru today right?

Whether you believe they are too ignorant or not is not relevant. Polls and studies show that poor (and the unemployed tend to be poor) favor democratic candidates. Stating that it was my tactic to make them think it or whatever you were getting as was just you failing to understand what I said.

Aw, there is no question I am way too ignorant to be a liberal. I simply couldn't take their failures and ask for more

the govt numbers show the same growth and improvements from 2010 thru today.

And your evidence that this is inaccurate is what?

Just how is that ? What taxes do you want to raise ? The Federal Government (non-military) payroll is larger now than when Obama took office.

Hey, maybe we can raise taxes high enough ot give everyone a job ! Whooooo - Hoooooo !

BEA shows economic growth lower each year 2010-2012, U.S. Treasury shows the greatest growth in debt in history. Those kind of improvements?

And your evidence that this is inaccurate is what?

you are asking me to provide evidence contrary to what I posted? I said the economy has been steadily improving since 2010. I said these sites confirm it. NOw you want me to refute my own post? I am not going to do that.

Maybe I am mistaken but I thought police, teachers and fire were funded by the state? Gonna look into that.

Exactly right so why is it claimed that cutting the FEDERAL BUDGET affects police, teachers, and firemen?

you seriously need help. pull up those sites. compare July 2010, july 2011 and july 2012. Let me know what you see.

Hello, my name is Tommy Flanagan, and I'm a member of Pathological Liars Anonymous. In fact.. I'm the president of the organization!

I didn't always lie. No, when I was a kid, I told the truth. But then one day, I got caught stealing money out of my mother's purse. I lied. I told her it was homework - that my teacher told me to do it. And she got fired! Yeah, that's what happened!

After that, lying was easy for me. I lied about my age and joined the army. I was thirteen at the time. Yeah.. I went to Vietnam, and I was injured catching a mortar shell in my teeth. And they made me a three-star general! And then I got a job in journalism, writing for the National Enquire.. er, Geographic! Yeah.. I was making twenty thousand a ye.. month! In fact, I won the Pulitzer Prize that year! Yeah, that's the ticket.

And then my cousin died - Joe Louis - and I took it hard. Maybe too hard - I tried to kill myself. Yeahh.. I did kill myself! Sure! I was medically dead for a week and a half! It was a woman that brought me out of it - Indira Gandhi! Yeah, right.. And she told me about Pathological Liars Anonymous.

Oh, you'd be surprised how many famous people belong. In fact.. at one of the meetings I met my wife - Morgan Fairchild! Yes, I'm a change man now, and all because of Pathological Liars Anonymous. Why, I - I even have my picture on the cover of Newsweek magazine. Yeah. Every day! Yeah.. that's the ticket! Yeah, you betcha!

When did I say you were a liberal? Clearly you accidently quoted my post instead of the one you really replied to. Be more careful please.

GDP is quarterly and the GDP this year is 1.5% that is lower than last year and certainly lower than 2010 after all the stimulus spending. Budget deficits are higher each year and the debt s up 5.4 trillion dollars. That isn't an improvement

I have asked you at least 5 times now to support this statement that you made. I have asked and asked and asked and you just keep deflecting.

I stated it as a fact. You can easily refute it if not. Post what the correct number is if you find one different. Point being, I am not going to link every thing that I post because some members here are either too lazy, or too ignorant, to things that the rest of us feel you should know it you are going to be in the conversation.

You can find it in Google with less than 10 seconds effort.

You obviously don't understand what a multiplier effect is, or that government spending is a cost. Each job created by government stimulus spending cost $200K an ME of 1, Romer found by studying the real world data that stimulus through tax cuts produces an ME of 3. So Obama fired her. Tax cuts cost taxpayers nothing, in fact..it saves them money. Deficit spending stimulus costs taxpayers the service on the debt, future higher taxes, or a loss of some government service.
If I thought that continuing debate would help you, I might be tempted to do so...but really I don't have much hope. Romer in her work for the stimulus package used 1.6 as the highest multiplier....AND THAT MEANS EVERY DOLLAR SPENT IS MULTIPLIED BY 1.6 IN CALCULATING IT'S EFFECT THROUGH THE ECONOMY....NOT COSTING THE GOVT MORE.

The rest of your claims are just horribly confused libertarian bs that just is not worth my time.
If your basic knowledge and posting doesn't get better, forget about responses.

You mean how it GREW by 1.5% this qtr. making it 1.5% HIGHER than it was. 1.5% is not an improvement?

Fair enough. You want to pull numbers out of thin air and throw them out on a forum then expect other people to prove them for you that probably doesnt violate any rules of the site. Seems like a pretty weak debate tactic however. In any case, keep posting nonsense you cant support. Most people will at least attempt to support their claims. You must be special.
