Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day brings out supporters, protesters [W:529]

I'm actually very liberal on societal issues. The government threatening a private citizen because he exercised his right to freedom of speech is reprehensible, and should not only be exposed for the unconstitutional, and criminal act that it is, but punished heavily.

That private citizen want's to change the law's. And he want's to do it for better worse,

It shall be for sure. I don't think that what you saw here was 100% everyone against SSM, I do believe that because of government involvement and their threat of force against the free exercise of rights, that the response was exacerbated.

Oh you mean that everyone at an OWS "gathering" actually knows why they're there.. :)

Yeah some people were there for chicken, like they normally would be, and some were there for solidarity, and what they were solid on, was free speech and SSM. Maybe not at once, but still this is a good thing for America, it's not a bad thing when this stuff happens!

I never tought supporting discrimination was a good thing. But if you do you have that right.

I doesn't need to be a "real threat", it just needs to be functionally accomplishable by government. The threat is force. Were they likely running their mouths for political gain? Likely, yes, I can agree to that. But they made the threat and that is something which we cannot allow. For any or our rights, this **** is too important to get bogged down in partisan BS. The government is limited, it must act accordingly, when it does not then it must be punished. Politicians cannot be given free reign, they accepted the contract when they took office, and they must abide by it.

Do you really think anyone backed down because of this? Hell, all he did was rally the troops. Chick fil a made a bundle. They hope these idiots spout of every day. So, I agree the government can use force, or punish, or take any adverse action. And when one speaks stupid, they should be called on it. But one does not equal the other. Action would have me up in arms. Stupidity is par for the course.

It's sad we never see these kind of lines of people eager to help at food banks or homeless shelters once a year.

This morning 08-03-12 the word is the homosexuals are going to CFA's and stage a kissing party. They will all stand around and swap spit making everyone vomit thus making room for more Chic-fil-A food. There is nothing I'd rather watch than a crowd of twisted, lost souls swapping spit. It's a wonder "you people" are not loved universally. Remember, chicken does not cure AIDS.

Even you have to realize this is a very, very broad brush, right? How would you know what "these kind of people" do or don't do concerning food banks?

This entire post makes no sense

Are you suggesting homosexuals are "twisted lost souls"?

What does chicken not curing AID's have to do with this?

How would kissing induce vomitting, and why would vomitting induce the desire to eat Chick-Fil-A food.

I didn't say anything about "these people," just wish people in general were this socially active in ways that actually help other people.

Wow. Not doing your side any favors here.

Your last sentence just crystallizes that you don't even understand why people are angry with Chick-Fil-A.\
People can be angry all they want, a government official cannot threaten them for expressing their views.

An empty threat against Chick-Fil-A < Ongoing discrimination against homosexuals.
You say empty threat, I say using a position of power to coerce others for political gain.

Give it a rest. Rahm Emanuel was just blowing off steam and said something dumb. Do you also think that Rick Perry should be thrown in prison for treason and insurrection when he half-heartedly suggested that Texas should secede from the union again? The phony political outrage meter is truly off the charts.
Yes, I actually would like to see Perry punished for his actions against the People of Texas as well. Public officials don't get to "blow off steam" by coercing others through publicly made threats.

That private citizen want's to change the law's. And he want's to do it for better worse,

Gay marriage is going to happen, so Dan Cathy is wasting his time and money. However, it's his right to express his views and donate funds to whoever he wants.

No ****. I've already acknowledged that; the fact that you are so desperate to make this all about Rahm Emanuel instead of ongoing discrimination is despicable. What exactly is your motive for distracting from the actual issue here? A year from now, Chick-Fil-A will probably still be funding bigotry and discrimination. Are you even going to REMEMBER what Rahm Emanuel said? I didn't think so.

You say empty threat, I say using a position of power to coerce others for political gain.

You mean like Chick-Fil-A thinks the federal government should do to homosexuals? And which the government ACTUALLY does (rather than just threatening to do)?

Wow.

And it's our right to point out that he's a huge piece of **** for doing so.

So you think all homosexuals are twisted people, gotcha...

Duh...what? I could guess, based on you confirming your ignorant initial statements meaning, that you're going off some ridiculous notion that Gay's are inherently more prone to getting AIDS than straight people? Or is it something else. Use your words and explain, "duh "Doesn't explain much.

Can't say I've ever witnessed one person, let alone crowds of people, vomitting simply due to the view of someone kissing. Are you suggesting you have? Furthermore, I can't speak for you, but I know when I've vomitted before the last thing my mind is going is "MMMM, I want som fast food to shove into my stomach".

Grease helps settle upset stomachs.

. There is nothing I'd rather watch than a crowd of twisted, lost souls swapping spit. .

Is it the sight of two male tongues teasing and probing that does it for you, or the musky aroma of male lust unleashed as the frenzied homosexual sexual tension builds while the tongues work their way past the trembling lips, lapping up the sweat forming in little rivulets down the neck, pausing momentarily to tease those hairy nipples and then heading eagerly towards that source of all manly goodness?

Curious minds want to know.

Hey Winston, dude, we all discriminate bro. It just a matter of degree and rationalization, but we ALL do it.

I think you understood the coloquial message Zyphlin, no need to press.

You obviously have no clue what my political beliefs are, let alone what I'll remember, so just stop embarrassing yourself with these stupid assumptions. It's pathetic.

Chick Fil a isn't a government entity, and therefore has no power over the People of the United States. They can waste all the money they want on denying homosexuals the right to marry, that's not going to keep DOMA from being repealed. Section 3 of DOMA has already been struck down as unconstitutional in numerous federal courts, and has further been rejected by President Obama.

Wow.
Demanding professionalism from elected officials, and staying within the boundaries of office are pretty radical ideas these days for some reason.

And it's our right to point out that he's a huge piece of **** for doing so.
And supporting a flip flopping dictator in the process.

All these clowns saying that CFA is funding bigotry is nonesense! Doesn't the US government fund the religious organizations in the US by way of a tax exemption? So silly how people can get regarding where people choose to put their money. Is it discrimination to not support SSM? Yes, of course it is, so what? is it bigotry? No not at all.

How is giving money to a group of people who state that they dont believe homosexuals should have the same rights as heterosexuals not funding bigotry?

I just saw on the news that about 30 gays turned out for the gay protest in Atlanta against Chick Fila where on Wednesday thousands turned up to support the restuarant.........The few militant gays and the many "feel Good Libs who think the tide is turning are living in La La land......

Happened pretty much the same way in Oklahoma City.
