She claims it was the her as private citizen but she sent the letter on city letterhead and signed it as the Speaker of the NYC Counsel.

Tweet form the San Fran mayor as follows: "Closest #ChickFilA to San Francisco is 40 miles away & I strongly recommend that they not try to come any closer." That looks like a friggin threat.

Personally, I'm in favor of gay marriage or at the very least scrubbing the term marriage from all federal law and replacing with civil union while protecting religious institutions from litigation if they don't perform same sex ceremonies. But support freedom of speech above that.

Plus, Chick Fil-A's food and service ROCK! Service wise, they're on par w/ In and Out in the fast food category.
If what's being reported from Chicago and Boston is true, it is most certainly an act of unfettered tyranny against the individual. I believe all politicians speaking out so animatedly on this topic are likely doing so for nothing more than political points AND are at best reckless in their language. They are government, government is restricted. This isn't for them to comment on.

you know, theres this thing called fascism, which does just that.

im surprised the left is blatantly backing fascism which they have accused everyone else of for years.

OK, there is certainly a mechanic through which you can use government force to keep people from frequenting the business in question. Though I meant more, you may not use government force to keep them out in a system built to uphold the rights and liberties of the individual.

The VP of the company had a friggin' heart attack.

The invisible man in the sky has spoken and taken sides on this issue.

I wouldn't be caught dead in a Chick-Fli-A-- no pun intended.

    Praise God.

You missed my post, so let me explain again. You are persecuting a person you believe is a persecutor, Emanual is doing the exact same thing you two just disagree on who the target should be but you both agree that persecuting persecutors is justifiable. Doesn't that make you stop and think for a second?

I certainly hope you aren't jubilant over the death of another human. I don't really eat at Chick-Fil-A, particularly in Newton, NJ where there ain't **** for miles. But I wouldn't augment my purchasing behavior based on this story.

i mean a mechanic of fascism is supporting or denying business based on political compliance.

Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day brings out supporters, protesters | Fox News
It used to be that taking a bite of a chicken sandwich just meant you were hungry. Now it has become a symbol of whether you stand for or against same-sex marriage, or – alternately – the right to express your personal views without fear of retaliation.
At Chick-fil-A locations across the country, people voted with their wallets today, coming out to express support for the fast-food chain after CEO Dan Cathy said in an interview that he is a firm backer of traditional marriage.
“I believe what the Bible says (about marriage),” Chauncy Fields told us after wolfing down a breakfast of chicken and biscuits. “So I came out here to support Chick-fil-A and the movement.”
Chris Johnson sees a double standard. “He (Dan Cathy) said the exact same thing that President Obama said,” Johnson told Fox News -- referring to the president’s past opposition to gay marriage – “And he gets negativity, and Obama gets positivity.”
At one Atlanta location, the restaurant was packed, while the line for the drive-thru looped twice around the building and out into the street.

The backlash across the country against Chick-fil-A has been ferocious. After the mayors of Chicago and Boston heaped scorn upon the company, the mayor of Washington, DC, suggested it was peddling “hate chicken.”
Those comments drew a sharp response from Rev. William Owens of the Coalition of African American Pastors. “Some people are saying that because of the position that Chick-fil-A is taking, they don’t want them in their cities. It is a disgrace. It is the same thing that happened when I was marching for civil rights, when they didn’t want a black to come into their restaurant," he told a press conference in Washington, DC.
The Chick-fil-A firestorm has taken on different meanings for different people. For some, it harks to the days of intolerance and segregation. For others, it is about religious views of marriage. But for most people who Fox News spoke to today, it is about free speech.
“I think it comes down to a First Amendment issue. I mean, I do believe in the traditional values of marriage between a man and a woman,” youth pastor Stephen Lenahan told Fox News after a leisurely breakfast with three members of his ministry. He is also puzzled as to why Dan Cathy is such a target, when other corporate CEOs who openly support same-sex marriage are not similarly criticized by conservatives.
LO AND BEHOLD, just as we expected, right wingers everywhere are going out in droves to dine at their favorite restaurant.

Gay bashing has always been a major issue for them in their lives, and they're only all too proud to support their prized culinary palace for taking the same bashing stance they hold dear*

Nothin' like good wholesome Christian Southern eatins'. . .

Chicken (100% natural whole breast filet, seasoning [salt, monosodium glutamate, sugar, spices, paprika], seasoned coater [enriched bleached flour {bleached wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid}, sugar, salt, monosodium glutamate, nonfat milk, leavening {baking soda, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate}, spice, soybean oil, color {paprika}], milk wash [water, whole powdered egg and nonfat milk solids], peanut oil [fully refined peanut oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness and dimethylpolysiloxane an anti-foaming agent added]). . .

Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich Nutrition and Description | Chick-fil-A
Mmm. . .mmm. . .gotta love that anti-foamin agent. Just can't get 'nuff of dem nonfat milk solids and dimylpolysloxene. He he 'course down here in Alabama they call that silly putty. Anyways, ain't no better way to spend a week-end than takin' the kids out to the Chick Fil A so they can eat more chickins and get all fat n' happy like Pa. You eat more chickins you be doin good by gettin rid of more faggots, and ain't nuthin' better than that.

Course, uh, if it weren't for Obama's welfare checks, we alls can't afford to eat there

    * - Sabbath special: beat up a gay man and get a 4 sandwiches and a Coke for the price of one. Beat up a lesbian and get all that and a box of nuggets

Yeah, I got that. I know it exists; I wasn't trying to say that it "can't" happen in the sense that it doesn't exist. But rather that it may not happen in a free society with restricted government. I agree full heartily that if Emanuel and such are using government force to keep Chick-Fil-A out, that they are engaged in tyranny and treason against the People and should be dealt with accordingly.

Christian-conservatives love to read into things.

I'm just poking fun at that.

The owner of Chick-Fil-A made a statement about God smiting us for being tolerant toward gays. His statement was very similar to what the WBC says.

However, the invisible man in the sky is telling that Chik-Fil-A asshole to shut the **** up and putting him in his place. "I can take you anytime, bitch."

It's an Omen. Stay the hell away from Chik-Fil-A if you know what's good for ya.
