However implausible you think it is, people all over the country patronized this chain today to show support.

That is assuming that a government contract in marriage is a right.

Basically, it is speculation and characterization. I could argue that Romney secretly favors same sex marriage and just goes with the party line to please his church and base.

Of course it's speculation, but the Romney analogy doesn't really work since he's never supported SSM. It works more with his anti-Obamacare stance. Ultimately, politicians are often disingenuous and they often adopt stances simply to please part of their base. I believe Obama did that with SSM.

Nobody's licenses have been affected. So get down off the high horse, because that's just a distortion.

I probably would eat at Chick-fil-A if we had them in Minneapolis. Look, dude ran off his mouth, which is his right. Some people got hugely pissed off and stopped buying chicken from him, which is their right. A couple of Democrats tried to score cheap political points, which is what politicians do. What is the big f-ing deal?

Free speech is an American value. So is the right to take your business elsewhere. Cut out the "war on Christianity" bull crap.

Why wouldn't it be? Marriage is only simply a symbolic event with economical consequences. Last I checked, no one owns the right to the word, so the union can be called whatever they want it to be called, and they should be able to enjoy those financial and lifestyle perks just like anyone else.

No one said the Pope had to give it his blessing.

Most of them didn't do it because they cared about some loudmouth mayors; many may have not even known about it. Most of them did it for one reason: Because they support discrimination, and wanted their communities to know it. I mean, do you really believe that enough people give a **** about Rahm Emanuel to drive massive turnout to a fast food restaurant? Really?

And what would those rights be?

No one is trying to take away his freedom of speech. I support his right to say whatever ignorant crap he wants about gays. For that matter, I support his right to protest buttsex at the funerals of dead soldiers, if that's what floats his boat. But when he gives millions of dollars to organizations advocating for discrimination (one of which is classified as a hate group by SPLC), he absolutely should be condemned for his actions.
