Colorado gun sales up after cinema killings

Nah, execution is way too easy a way to leave this earth. If I can't have euthanasia, they can't have the death penalty. It's a waste of money. By the time these people have exhausted all of their appeals and get their nonrevokable due date? Taxpayers have spent millions. Let these people rot in jail and die alone in prison. That seems like a fitting punishment to me.

Not if they followed the Example of Texas. Costs us a lot less because they don't hang around for decades, I think 8 years is about the average right now. It would cost a lot less if the allowed the use of normal lawyers, instead of requiring special authorized ones. Of course, a probable cause warrant for chemical interrogation could reduce it even more. We should consider that as a society, I think.

My, My MaggieD, you really do hate him if you want to torture him with life in prison. I guess someone could feel sorry for him and send him jars of vasaline and breath mints every now and then.

I figured if he doesn't get death by lethal injection from the state he will get it from some of the other prisoners but it won't be nearly as quick or painless-AIDS takes a while to kill

There is the law, but Jesus brought conpassion to the law. You'd likely do him a favor by killing him, but I do worry about blood lust among the population. I prefer to follow the Christian message.

That's all fine and good until it's someone you love who gets killed by a murderer. Can I say that if someone I loved were murdered, that I would seek revenge? No- can't say that I would, but if we're talking justice, then taking a murderer's life, who has killed innocent people, then justice is served. Turning the other cheek promotes bad behavior.

he looks pretty damn crazy.

Maybe that is his intention. What other option does he have to save his hide? Caught completed red-handed and red-haired. Caught with the guns in his hand and his apt wired to explode on who ever entered.

This guy does not have a death wish. Otherwise he would have fought it out with the police and gone down in gunfire. The only option he has left to live is to get the insanity ruling. In order to get that ruling you need to well, act insane.

There's a reason they don't let us handle such personally. While I can't say I wouldn't want to kill that person, I would hope the law wouldn't allow me, and if my beliefs mean anything at all, then they must stand when times are hard. Beliefs are not beleifs if we only hold them when it is easy to so.

According to data released by the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, 880 people applied for the state-approved background checks on Friday, 13 July, days before the shooting.

On Friday, 29 July, the day following the shooting, the number was 1,216, and on the Saturday, 1,243. In total, 2,887 people were approved to buy a gun over the weekend, an increase of 43.5% on the weekend before, said the bureau.

"What they're saying is, 'they want to have a chance'," he told the Denver Post. "They want to have the ability to protect themselves and their families if they are in a situation like what happened in the movie theatre."

July 29th is supposed to be a Saturday in the near future, maybe they meant the 20th, not the 29th.

Some of them could be saying that they are afraid guns may soon be harder to obtain after what happened.

I sure hope he doesn't have the balls to try it, Biden would make a really crappy president.

He isnt....

Ever checked out Obama's Brady ratings (you know the anti gun groups report card)? Wanna know what Obama got? F's. Pretty much straight F's.
Quite the anti gun president huh?

Says Obama should... But you think OBama is going to??? Doubt it..

carolyn McCarthy is certifiably insane on this issue. She was too stupid to figure out that NYC's draconian gun laws didn't stop Colin Ferguson from killing a family member in a gun free railway car. So rather than dealing with what really caused her tragedy, she gained fame and fortune and power by blaming guns rather than the murderer.

she is a scum bag of the worst order

she wants to punish everyone who owns a gun to slake her grief.

tell me, which candidate do you think the big anti gun group members will give the most bucks to

which justices do they lie the best? Sotomayor (dissent in McDOnald) and Kagan or Roberts and Alito?

I heard saw that too. Any notions that Obama is actively anti-gun are completely groundless. He has basically ignored the issue.

he believed staying in office with as many dems in congress as possible was more important to him than trying to impose his views about guns (that were expressed while a state senator and a US senator)

Im sure he wants to close the gunshow loophole..and maybe restrict magazine sizes & limit handgun purchases to one per month per person.

It wouldn't be Turtle if it didn't frame Obama in the worst light, lol.

Holder and Obama have said some of the dumbest things I've ever heard on guns, well, not worse than your average gun control group but it's in the bottom percentile of informed issuance of statements. Holder stated he wanted to brainwash the citizens against the right to keep and bear in the mid nineties, there was that collosal waste of a speech from Obama about people clinging to their bibles and guns as if those things are to be ashamed of.

So if access to guns wasn't the problem, and his mental health was not an issue, why did Holmes do what he did? Not enough Sundays at church?

I am for universal health care so obviously I think everyone should have easy access to mental health care. But I don’t think for a second that would have made a difference here. One would have to seek out health care in order to get it. I doubt he would have. One reason I doubt it is he was a student. Most students have access to cheap or free counseling through their universities.

Probably Obama. Still doesnt mean Obama is going to do anything...
Wanna know how much they spent in total on the 2008 election cycle? 54.8K....

So what case is going to the supreme court that is anti gun?
Oh yea what way does the court swing?
Oh yea does Obama have any plans whatsoever to do anything about guns?

As you are pulling your phone out of your pocket to dial 911 I just pulled my gun out and shot the psychotic killer to death. All went home safe and sound.
