There would be two levels of maturity. Level 1 would be people who are mature enough to simply be adults themselves.

Level 2 would be people who are mature enough to not just be adults, but teach the next generation to be adults in conjunction with the school system.
In which nation do they operate this way?

No, no, no. You're getting work confused with results.

Of course people need results, but pursuing results in themselves makes people no more important than robots in a factory.

The point is to be process-oriented, not results-oriented, where the MEANS justify the ENDS, not the other way around. It's the decision making process which makes our lives meaningful. We CHOOSE how things get done in order to identify our lives with style and flavor.

If people always looked backwards for examples, civilization would have never gotten off the ground. We'd be stuck in anarchy.

last thing I want is religious leaders, or philosophers, or govt leaders dictating to the masses how things should be...
Mankind has progressed sporadically, yes, but in the long run, we are better off than we were 100 years ago.
What you are professing is for us to be mostly dumb sheep led by a bunch of elitest sheep herders.

That statement is only true" to a point. Unemployment is a contract between the worker, employee, and the state, and is finite. Typically the period is 26 weeks, although it can vary state by state. Currently, when the contractual insurance expires, the extensions kick in, which have nothing to do with the original contract premiums. After the 26 weeks, it then becomes just another welfare program.
Actually, in this case it has become a stimulus program.....

    Winston Churchill:
".....Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it...."

    George Santayana:

"....Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.....

Its great to move forward, but if you have not moved forward based upon a foundation of the past, you are instead merely reinventing the mistakes of the past.
