In his first press conference since launching his reelection bid, Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez vowed to win the Oct. 7 race and said he had fully recovered from an undisclosed form of cancer. Chávez also accused the opposition of trying to undermine the election and called rival Henrique Capriles a political lightweight.
Dressed in a blue jacket and red shirt, Chávez sounded energetic as he told anecdotes and joked with reporters for almost four hours. Asked about his health, Chávez said that it had been eight weeks since finishing his last radiation session in Cuba and that he started jogging again on Sunday.
“I’ll be ready to play baseball soon,” he said. When reporters asked if he was free of cancer, he said “I’m totally free.”The 57-year-old socialist has been battling cancer for more than a year, and relapsed in February after claiming he was cured.

Quit the theory.... :lamo
Lets see we have the word of a politician as our only evidence. But then Chavez already claimed to be cancer free before this. SO you should have said Hugo Chavez free of cancer again.

Your faith in Hugo Chavez is entertaining. I bet if he was not a Socialist you would be just as skeptical as I am. Probably even more so.

Chavez may very well have cancer or not. Theres really no way to know for sure. And it really does not matter whether we know or not. But his credibility just went further south since he is claiming to be "Free, free, totally free," of cancer. If he relapses a third time before Oct 7th, not many will have any confidence that he is up to performing his duties. If he does have cancer and is not in remission then he is lying to the people of Venezuela. His motive is obvious in that case because he would lose support rapidly if he is not in remission. Now if he doesnt even have cancer, well then one must ask why he would say that he does. Which the only sign that we have seen is loss of hair. Publicly he has not appeared to have lost much weight if any. Which is very odd when receiving both Chemotherapy and radiation therapy. But again we do not know nor to the citizens of Venezuela know for certain what is happening to their president.
