House holds holder in contempt [W:140

The 255-67 vote to hold Holder in contempt sends a pretty firm message that he needs to comply with the Congressional committee's requests.

Seventeen democrats in the House seem to agree. :tomatofac

Seems to be more of them not liking his crackdown on voter suppression laws than anything else

It now looks like House Republicans are attempting to do an end around on the DOJ by bypassing the standard practice of assigning the US Attorney from the District of Columbia to prosecute the case and instead using a special prosecutor in civil court in order to prosecute it. Another smart move by one branch of the gov't today. Who in their right mind wants a US Attorney, who reports to the very man just held in contempt, investigating the same guy? It wouldn't work. I'm pretty sure this will pass as well.

Way to regurgitate hyperbole from The Botox Witch.

It just doesn't make sense that people who loved the EP when Bush was in office hates it now, seems like nothing but a political witch-hunt.

Yawn...At least that is the end of this sham. Good riddance. Except if we can get some indictments for ISSA and his fraudulent statements.

Who can blame them. The NRA made the vote a litmus test for their A rating, in some districts that is important. Besides there are no clothes on this emperor and it is the end of it. No harm done.

It is a little witchy but lets not forget that someone died over it so I am thinking the family would disagree with the "Nothing" to it statement.

Win some and lose some. At least this one wont cost us a ton of money.

In a vote like this, where the House Minority Leadership played the race card and flung all the bull**** they could to derail it, even 5 Democrats voting in favor of the Resolution would have been a lot.

17 Democrats Joining the Republicans is a Tsunami

17 who put honor over party.

The top cop is a crook.

Provide the documents.

How are his statements fraudulent? Did AG Holder turn the docs over or not? He didn't. He is supposed to be the embodiment of justice and law in our country yet he gaffed off a legal subpoena for ALL of the documents associated with F&F. Thats pretty cut and dry to me. We have checks and balances in our gov't for a reason. AG Holder essentially played chicken with the Congress when they threatened to exercise them. He lost.

Democrats want to turn this into a racial matter. That makes it legitimate for Republicans to play the race card with white seniors on Obamacare. Race relations will continue to deteriorate this country.

What about the death of Brian Terry? Don't the Democrats care about his death from a weapon that was part of Fast and Furious?

Executive privilege.

I didn't say anything about that issue. I'm talking about AG Holder. President Obama has every right to do what he did just like the House has every right to do what it did. My only issue with his exercising of executive privelege is that it makes what should be a clear cut investigation look shady.

I think PO is holding Holder close until the bus gets closer. Then he can throw Holder under it and run. The John Mitchell comment during the hearings was something else. Holder lost his cool for a second there.

Hardly. You did scan over the section which illustrated the bi-partisan agreement in this instance correct? Even if this vote had the slightest relevance to the case you mentioned, it appears that a federal judge sided with Florida in that instance.

Shady is putting it lightly in my view. No one investigating this believed that Obama had anything to do with it on a level that suggests that Obama was "in the loop" per se. But now? EP has everything to do with the President being in the loop, so that is another lie that Holder told over, and over.

It is a racial matter.

Holder and the Obama administration clearly have no respect for the lives of those living south of the border.

Well, at least one branch of the government got something right today.

They spent tax payer dollars to do a little political theater kabuki for the benefit of the far-right base?

How do you see that as a positive?

I would like to see them do what they're paid to do and not put on meaningless performances.

Later in the summer, Teatards mean to waste more of your money pretending to 'repeal' ACA.

You mean Bush and his AG, right?

The program was started under them.

Fast and Furious is all Obama's. "Wide Receiver" was ended by the Bush administration when it was discovered that the gps devices on the weapons were compromised.
